Broad Competence. The candidate must supply evidence of continuing consistent scholarly contributions at a level determined by the CAPT, on the advice of the external assessors, to be significantly above the minimum defined above. Examples of such contributions could be work equivalent to the publication of a scholarly book through a reputable scholarly or commercial publisher, or to a number of articles which make a comparable contribution to the development and growth of the discipline or scholarly area of specialization or to the professional field.

Broad Competence. The candidate must establish that his or her teaching has consistently been of a quality significantly above the minimum over an extended period.
Broad Competence. The candidate must establish that he or she has engaged in consistently and effective involvement, at a level significantly above the minimum, in University governance, non-remunerative professionally-related service to the community or professional/scholarly organizations over an extended period. This should include active and continuing service in positions of institutional leadership. Such positions might, for example, include (but are not limited to) membership on the CAPT, contract negotiations, President of the Union, Chair of a Department, or Chair of a major committee. Service to the profession or the community should include active and continuing service in leadership positions in professional or community organizations.

  • Cultural Competence A. The CONTRACTOR shall participate in the State's efforts to promote the delivery of services in a culturally competent manner to all beneficiaries, including those with limited English proficiency and diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, disabilities, and regardless of gender, sexual orientation or gender identity. (42 C.F.R. § 438.206(c)(2).)

  • Competence The Expert shall be deemed not to be an arbitrator. As a result, any applicable law or legislation with regard to arbitration shall not apply to the Expert’s appointment, opinion or the procedure according to which the Expert expresses its opinion.

  • Cultural Competency 1. All program staff shall receive at least one (1) in-service training per year on some aspect of providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services. At least once per year and upon request, Contractor shall provide County with a schedule of in-service training(s) and a list of participants at each such training.

  • Employment Categories (a) Employees under this Agreement will be employed in one of the following categories:

  • Competency Competency involves application of knowledge and skills to a limited range of tasks and roles. There is a specific range of contexts where the choice of actions is clear. The competencies are normally used within established routines, methods and procedures that are predictable. Judgments against established criteria may also be required.

  • Teaching Assistants 1. All Teaching Assistants shall receive the same remuneration per base unit and the difference between the amount paid a Graduate Teaching Assistant and other Teaching Assistants is an associated scholarship. See XIII D. for appropriate compensation.

  • Religious Objectors Any employee covered hereby who maintains that she/he holds a sincere and bona fide religious belief that conflicts with an obligation to financially support MSEA-SEIU, public employee organizations or labor organizations in general may seek religious objector status by petitioning MSEA-SEIU. Any such employee who is found to hold a sincere and bona fide religious belief that conflicts with an obligation to financially support MSEA-SEIU, public employee organizations or labor organizations in general, shall have the right to refuse to make service fee payments; provided, however, that said right to refuse shall continue only so long as the employee makes contributions at least equal in amount to the service fee to a non-religious charitable organization mutually agreed upon by the employee so refusing and the Union, within ten (10) days after each payday. Part-time employees’ contributions to non-religious charitable organizations shall coincide in amount with the payments of those part-time employees paying the service fee. MSEA-SEIU shall not unreasonably deny the choice of such non-religious charitable organization suggested by the employee. An administrative or legal challenge to a denial of a petition for religious objector status may be filed in an appropriate forum. The State of Maine Office of Employee Relations is not such a forum. Should an employee have a pending written request for religious objector status or a pending administrative or legal challenge regarding their religious objector status, the State will continue to deduct an amount equal to the service fee from the employee’s pay until the request is granted or the challenge is resolved in the employee’s favor, and that amount will be placed by MSEA- SEIU in an interest-bearing escrow account pending resolution of such dispute or request. MSEA-SEIU shall pay for any maintenance fees associated with such escrow accounts. The State shall not be liable for any fees, costs, damages, expenses, or any other form of liability involved with regard to such escrow accounts. If an employee is granted religious objector status, MSEA- SEIU will notify the State of the employee’s religious objector status, and the State will cease automatic service fee deductions. It shall be the sole obligation of MSEA-SEIU to certify to the State the name of any employee who has failed to make timely contributions as a religious objector and has, thus, forfeited religious objector status. Once MSEA-SEIU has certified the employee’s name to the State, the State will commence and continue to automatically deduct the service fee from the employee’s pay as provided in Section 1.

  • Supported Employment Supported employment is provided to an individual who has paid, individualized, competitive employment in the community (i.e., a setting that includes non- disabled workers) to help the individual sustain that employment. It includes individualized support services consistent with the individual’s plan of services and supports as well as supervision, self-employment, and training. Optional*† E. Behavioral Support: Specialized interventions by professionals with required credentials to assist an individual to increase adaptive behaviors and to replace or modify maladaptive behavior that prevent or interfere with the individual’s inclusion in home and family life or community life. Support includes: ▪ assessing and analyzing assessment findings so that an appropriate behavior support plan may be designed; ▪ developing an individualized behavior support plan consistent with the outcomes identified in the individual’s plan of services and supports; ▪ training and consulting with family members or other providers and, as appropriate, the individual; ▪ and monitoring and evaluating the success of the behavioral support plan and modifying the plan as necessary. Nursing: Treatment and monitoring of health care procedures prescribed by physician or medical practitioner or required by standards of professional practice or state law to be performed by licensed nursing personnel.   • Employee Orientation Each and every person working for a contractor, including sub- contractors, will be given an orientation to familiarize them with the site safety program. Unless otherwise specified, each sub-contractor is responsible for the orientation of their workers.

  • SALARY DETERMINATION FOR EMPLOYEES IN ADULT EDUCATION PCA Article B.3 does not apply in School District No. 34 (Abbotsford).
