Body cameras shall be activated manually by an officer, pursuant to the Policy, or automatically by current or future technology, during any law enforcement activity.

BODY WORN CAMERAS. 170. SPD has provided all members of the FIU with body-worn cameras. Within six months of the Effective Date, SPD will develop policies and training to ensure they are used appropriately.
BODY WORN CAMERAS. The Parties acknowledge that body-worn cameras (BWC) and in-cruiser cameras (ICC) are powerful tools in the pursuit of transparency and accountability creating opportunities to enhance training and aid in the prosecution of crime. The parties also recognize the importance of the proper use of recordings and the legitimate expectations of privacy of our employees. To that end, BWC and ICC recordings shall be governed by department procedure 41.3.8. No recordings related to disciplinary action against any employee may be used for training by the College until the action it has been completely resolved or adjudicated at the level of Executive Director of Human Resources.

In the event the City believes the providing of a copy of such videos would be prohibited, City agrees to utilize its best efforts to facilitate the availability of the officer who made the video to testify, upon request by the District, in any school disciplinary hearing concerning the Officer's knowledge of the facts and circumstances of the incident which was videoed. The parties also agree that any such film or video taken by, and kept in the possession of, the City's officers may be considered "law enforcement records" under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. sec. 1232g and 34 C.F.R. Sec. 99.8, and that any copy of such film or video, if permitted by law to be provided to the District, may then become an educational record of the District under FERPA. In the event the District determines that such educational record is required to be released to the public or to a parent or a student under FERPA, the District agrees, prior to release of such records, to provide the City advanced written notice sufficient for the City to determine if a protective order or other injunctive relief may be required to protect the confidentiality of the record.
BODY WORN CAMERAS. It is the intent of this Agreement and a mandate from the Poplar Bluff Police Department that officers shall activate the body-worn camera when such use is appropriate to the proper performance of his or her official duties, where the recordings are consistent with this policy. This Article does not govern the use of surreptitious recording devices used in undercover operations. As with other certain provisions of this Agreement, the usage and procedures of body-worn cameras shall, at a minimum, be in the compliance with CALEA Standards, but may have stricter and/or additional guidelines addressing their usage.
BODY WORN CAMERAS. 5.5.1 Smart Interface (“Si”) Device Refresh: Customers who have chosen a 5-year Term for Body Worn Cameras as a Service (“BWCaaS”) offering will receive a new version of the Si device 30 months from the start of the Term or as soon as a new version is available. The new version Si device must be in the same family as the previously selected model. The refresh will only include the Si device. Any carry holders, batteries or other accessories will not be refreshed. The Si devices being refreshed must be returned to Motorola within 60 days of the refreshed devices being shipped. The customer will be invoiced for any devices not returned or returned damaged or nonfunctional.

BODY WORN CAMERAS. Before the City of Dover requires members of the bargaining unit to wear body worn cameras, the following changes/additions shall be made to the current policy, 41.23. • Whenever a member is subject to an internal investigation, discipline, or questioning during an internal investigation, the member and his or her representative or legal counsel shall be given an opportunity to review all relevant recordings and consult prior to being questioned. • Until one (1) months after the issuance of a body worn camera, members shall not be disciplined for failure to activate their body worn cameras. • The department shall maintain at least one member trained in "forensic video analysis" and "human performance". • Unless authorized by the Chief of Police pursuant to an official investigation, the Body Worn Camera shall not be remotely activated without the knowledge of the Officer wearing said Body Worn Camera for any reason other than an immediate threat to life, such as an officer -in-distress call. • Further changes to the Body Worn Camera equipment and/or software that significantly impacts the operation of the equipment shall be negotiated with the FOP.
