Black Seal License. Custodial employees who do not hold a Black Seal license shall be classified as Custodians and shall be compensated according to the guide for Custodian on Schedule A, Category 1.
Black Seal License. 1. The Board may, at its discretion, require a custodial or maintenance employee to obtain and maintain a Black Seal License. In such cases, the Board shall bear the expense thereof. The Board shall also provide sufficient time off from work to enable the employee to attend classes necessary to obtain said license.
Black Seal License. Custodial employees are required to hold a Black Seal License. If the license is not held at the time of hire, the custodian will be provided with up to12 months from the initial date of hire to obtain same. Failure to have obtained such license within the specified time period cannot be contested as grounds for termination of employment. Those who were hired prior to 1/1/2021 and grandfathered will continue to receive the stipend for the license. Exceptions may be made to this requirement by the Superintendent or his/her designee for good and sufficient reasons as determined at the sole discretion of the Board.
Black Seal License. All Custodians must possess a Black Seal License. Upon ratification of the Agreement all custodians must take the first available test for a Black Seal License. If a custodial employee does not pass the test, he/she must take the next available test. If the custodial employee fails two (2) tests, that employee shall be terminated. The termination is not subject to the grievance procedure. Any custodian who has a Black Seal License shall receive a yearly stipend of $400 for the duration of the Agreement.
Black Seal License. 1. Employees (custodians) holding a current Black Seal License will be paid an additional $977.00.
Black Seal License. During the life of this contract, any employee who is the holder of a Black Seal Boiler License shall receive a pay differential of three hundred and fifty dollars ($350.00) per year. In addition, the Board of Education shall reimburse the employee the cost of the Black Seal Boiler License renewal fee.
Black Seal License. The Board shall have the right to require all custodial/maintenance personnel hired after July 1, 1988, to have or obtain a Black Seal License. The Board agrees to pay the full cost of the course and course materials. After two failed opportunities to pass the examination pursuant to a Board-established time table, the employee shall bear the cost of obtaining the Black Seal License. The Superintendent at his or her sole discretion shall have the right to approve payment for additional coursework after the two examinations. If such course work occurs outside of an employee’s regular work hours, such employee shall be paid their regular rate of pay for all time spent in the classroom. The Board has two salary schedules for full-time custodial staff; Black Seal Certified and Non- Certified Employees.
Black Seal License. All custodians must possess a Black Seal License. Any training required to obtain the license shall be done on the employee’s own time and not during the workday. However, employees who work during the evening shall be provided release time provided they make up the time in the same week. The Board shall pay for the training. If an employee fails the Black Seal License examination, the Board will provide tutoring to the employee to assist with the second examination. Once the employee passes the examination the Board shall pay for the license. Any custodial employee who fails the Black Seal License examination on two attempts, or whose Black Seal License is forfeited or revoked may be terminated with just cause.
Black Seal License. The Board agrees to pay the full cost of the course and course materials for any custodial/maintenance employee required to obtain a Black Seal License. Any custodial/maintenance employee who holds a valid Black Seal License shall receive additional compensation each year as follows: Effective July 1, 2004 $600.00 Effective July 1, 2005 $650.00 Effective July 1, 2006 $700.00 It is agreed that the stipend shall be discontinued when the need for Black Seal License is no longer required.
Black Seal License. 1. The Board shall pay the tuition cost for enrollment in the course to obtain a Black Seal License and for the cost of the license.
