Bilingual Education. If there are any changes in the State law that would affect bilingual education, the Parties agree to meet as soon as practicable to discuss the change(s).

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this paragraph, the Charter School shall have no obligation to provide bilingual education to a greater extent than required under the law.

Bilingual Education. The District shall provide a $500 annual stipend to an individual that is assigned to teach in a “primary language program”, provided that the individual holds a B- CLAD certification.

Bilingual Education. 21.4.1 Bilingual Stipend Effective July 1, 2023, all unit members shall receive an annual bilingual stipend of $3,000. The stipend shall be added to the annual salary amount and paid out in ten, eleven or twelve equal increments dependent on the unit members classification. Unit members must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible for the bilingual stipend:
Bilingual Education. Bilingual Education and English as a Second Language (ESL and ELL): The District and the Association will meet annually in the month of April/May to review school projections, and determine which schools, if any, need additional certified or endorsed teachers for Bilingual, ESL or TESOL classes for grades K-3. Adjusted FTEs will take place accordingly at the commencement of the school year.
Bilingual Education. The Employer will follow the metrics provided by CPS as of the effective date of this Agreement for the number of English Language Program Teachers at each school. The English Language Learner program teacher responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, coordinating ACCESS testing. An ESL or Bilingual teacher may also be hired to be the ELPT and will be paid a Student Support English Learner Program Coordinator Teacher stipend as outlined in Article 42, Academic Stipends, for those responsibilities. Beginning second semester 2023-2024 school year ESL/Bilingual teachers acting as an ELPT alongside ESL/Bilingual services shall be provided at minimum 350 minutes per week dedicated to the fulfillment of ELPT duties. Other prep time will be allotted pro rata based on teaching load.
