Bereavement Time. 36.1 If a death occurs among members of an employee’s immediate family the employee will be excused from work to attend the funeral and make other necessary arrangements without loss of pay from the day of death until the day after the funeral, but not more than a total of five (5) working days for spouse, child, and parent or three (3) working days for all other immediate family members as described in paragraph 36.2. If a member of management has a legitimate concern about possible abuse, the manager shall have the right to ask for verification. If a death in the family occurs while on an approved extended vacation (three (3) days or greater) the employee should contact UHR to discuss appropriate use of requested Bereavement Time.

Bereavement Time. 31.3.1 Regular full-time employees with one (1) or more years of service who are required to be absent from work because of death in their immediate family will be granted excused time off at the basic rate of pay for a reasonable period of time, not to exceed three (3) scheduled working days. Employees who can justify such need to the satisfaction of Management, such as for travel, will be eligible to receive up to two (2) additional days off from work; such time will be excused without pay, or, if available, the employee may elect to utilize Vacation or Holiday time.

Bereavement Time. 27.2.1 After 90 days from date of hire employees shall be granted excused time to be based on the circumstances in each case by reason of making arrangements for, or attending, a funeral in the immediate family. Compensation shall be at the basic hourly rate for normal scheduled work hours actually lost but shall not exceed three (3) basic days' pay. This shall be only applicable through a period starting with the day of death and including the day following interment. The employee shall select the day or days within this funeral period. The immediate family shall be considered as the employee’s father and mother (or equivalent thereof), fatherinlaw, motherinlaw, brother, sister, spouse or domestic partner, children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents and great grandparents. Immediate family shall also include the employee’s brotherinlaw, sisterinlaw, aunt and uncle provided however, that payment hereunder shall be applicable only for the day of the funeral.
Bereavement Time. In the event of a death in an employee’s immediate family, the employee will receive bereavement time with pay from the day of death until seven (7) days following the funeral, provided the period does not exceed five (5) working days for spouse, child and parent or three (3) working days for all other immediate family as follows: brother, sister, mother/father-in-law, sister/brother-in-law, daughter/son-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, step-parent, step-child, step-sister/brother, half- sister/brother and those others for whom the employee maintains insurance coverage under paragraph 202.
Bereavement Time. An employee who is regularly scheduled to work twelve-hour shifts who has completed thirty (30) days of continuous employment and who suffers a death in the family (as defined in Article 13.4 of this Agreement) will be granted time off not to exceed a maximum of three (3) scheduled workdays within the seven-day period following the date of death, with “scheduled workday” defined as the length of the employee’s normally scheduled shift (e.g., twelve (12) hours).

Bereavement Time. At the time of the death of a spouse, child, step- child, child-by-law, parent, step parent, and parent of current or deceased spouse, an employee will be entitled to use a maximum of the next five (5) work days with pay, not to be deducted from the accumulated sick leave, to arrange for and/or attend the funeral or a service in lieu of the funeral. An employee will be entitled to use a maximum of three (3) work days with pay, not to be deducted from the accumulated sick leave, to make arrangements and attend the funeral, or a service in lieu of the funeral, for any other immediate family member as defined below.
Bereavement Time. Full time employees shall be given up to three (3) days off with pay in the event of the death of an immediate family member. An immediate family member is defined as a spouse/partner to a civil union; in-law relation; child, including biological, stepchildren, adopted children and individuals for whom the employee serves as a guardian or in loco parentis capacity, parents, including step-parents, adopted parents, former guardians or an individual who cared for the employee in an in loco parentis capacity, and those in similar relation to the employee‟s spouse/partner in a civil union; grandparents, including those of the employee or the employee‟s spouse/partner in a civil union. All other employees shall be given a pro-rated amount of bereavement leave. The days need not be taken consecutively. Employees should notify their supervisor as soon as is practicable of the need to take bereavement time.
Bereavement Time. A. At the time of the death of a member of an employee's immediate family, as defined below, the employee shall be granted leave of absence for the purpose of making funeral arrangements, attending the funeral, etc., for a period of time which is of duration appropriate to the circumstances presented (such as the out-of-town travel involved), and shall be paid for not to exceed three (3) of the employee's scheduled work-days in that period. However, an exception shall be made to include one (1) additional work-day if the burial requires travel in excess of five hundred (500) miles one way and to the extent that the affected employee cannot return in time to secure eight (8) hours of rest before the beginning of the scheduled work period. It is understood in this connection that the time so taken includes attending the funeral. "
