BEREAVEMENT PAY. 22.01 The Employer agrees that in the event of a death in the immediate family, the Employer shall grant bereavement leave of three (3) consecutive calendar days with pay. This leave includes both working and non-working days.

BEREAVEMENT PAY. 22.01 Should a bereavement occur in an employee's immediate family (parent, parent-in-law, spouse, child, brother, sister, grandparent, brother- in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law or grandchild) the employee shall be granted such time off from work with pay as is reasonable under the circumstances, up to a maximum of three (3) days. Step parent, step child, step brother, step sister are included as are common law spouse and same sex partner.
BEREAVEMENT PAY. If an employee suffers a death in the immediate family, he shall be granted compassionate leave of absence with full pay for three (3) days. Immediate family means: spouse, mother, father, brother, sister, children, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents and grandchildren. If the employee affected does not attend or arrange services then he shall only be entitled to one (1) day as provided under this Section.

The length of such time off work shall be determined by the Company, provided the employee attends the funeral. The term "immediate family" shall mean spouse, common-law spouse, parent, step-parent, child, step-child, brother or sister, mother or father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandchildren and grandparents.
