Bereavement. A maximum of three (3) days earned sick leave may be used per occurrence for bereavement due to the death of persons in the immediate or extended family, as defined herein, or any relative who resided with the employee.

Bereavement. Part-time employees shall be entitled to the same coverage as is provided to full-time employees with payment based on the actual hours they were scheduled to work.
Bereavement. (a) An Employee shall be entitled to a bereavement leave without loss of regular pay and benefits in the event of the death of a member of their family, as follows:
Bereavement. Three (3) consecutive workdays of bereavement leave shall be granted to each employee upon the death of a member of his/her family. Leave for full or part-time employees must begin within five (5) calendar days of the date of death of the family member or the date of the funeral. The Employer may grant vacation, sick leave or personal leave to extend the bereavement leave. For the purpose of this Article, family shall include spouse, domestic partner (domestic partner is defined as one who stands in place of a spouse and who resides with the employee), child, grandchild, parents, grandparents, siblings, step-child, step-parent, step-siblings, great- grandparents, aunt, uncle, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, or legal guardian or other person who stands in the place of a parent. In the event an infant child dies while an employee is using Adoption/Childbirth leave for that infant, Adoption/Childbirth leave terminates on the date of the death. Requested bereavement leave may begin on the day following the death of the child. Bereavement leave will be granted in the case of a stillbirth conditioned upon the tendering of a death certificate.
Bereavement. A total of five (5) working days may be allowed per bereavement of the following: father, mother, spouse, child, or common-law spouse. A total of three (3) working days may be allowed per bereavement of the following: brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in- law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, fiance or other person in loco parentis or any relative who lived in the home. One (1) work day may be allowed per bereavement to attend the funeral of a grandparent-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew. In case of extenuating circumstances, application may be made to the Director of Education, or designate, for additional time under this Article. For any working days which fall in this period and for which approval is granted, there shall be no deduction of pay.
Bereavement. Leave with pay up to five (5) consecutive standard workdays shall be granted during a calendar year by the department head in case of the death of a mother, father, spouse, registered domestic partner, parents of a spouse or domestic partner, grandparents, sister, brother, son, daughter, or son or daughter of a registered domestic partner of a Regular Hire employee. Approved bereavement leave may be used on a non-consecutive basis within three months of the death of the family member. Bereavement leave in case of death of other persons may be granted only upon approval of the County Administrator. Bereavement leave shall be charged against accumulated sick leave.

Bereavement. 13.01 A part-time employee, temporarily working full-time relieving a full-time employee absent due to sickness, vacation, leave of absence, or accident/injury, will be eligible for bereavement leave as set out in Article 20 of the body of the Agreement if a qualifying bereavement occurs during the period the employee was relieving the full-time employee.
