Benefits While on Leave An employee will continue to receive her/his salary and benefits while on paid leave under this Article. An employee on unpaid leave may arrange to pay the costs required to maintain benefit coverage in accordance with the local provisions of the collective agreement.
Rights While on Leave A bargaining unit member approved for a professional conference shall receive full salary while in attendance at said conference. In addition, an estimate of cost of reimbursement will be submitted with the request.
Retirement Leave (a) Full-time nurses who:
Benefits on Sick Leave Effective for absences beginning on or after April 1, 2000, the Hospital will pay the employer portion of the benefit premiums while an employee is on sick leave, including the EI period prior to the commencement of long term disability and LTD, to a maximum of 30 months from the date the absence began.
Leave of Absence for Employees Who Serve as Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association An employee who serves as Local Coordinator for the Ontario Nurses' Association shall be granted leave of absence without pay up to a total of thirty-five (35) days annually. Leave of absence for Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association will be separate from the Union leave provided in (a) above.
Vacation Leave on Retirement An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.
Transition Leave At the Appointing Authority’s discretion an employee under notice of permanent layoff may be granted up to one hundred and sixty (160) hours of paid leave, ending at the date of layoff. Hours of leave may be granted at any time throughout the layoff notice period and shall not be subject to the Application and Reinstatement provision of this Article.
’ Compensation Leave If such determination cannot readily be made and all healthcare leave or annual leave subject to 100% payoff has been applied to the absence, the employee shall be placed on Official Leave until a final determination is made.
Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA a. Pursuant to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA, as amended, an employee with more than one (1) year of experience, and who works at least 1250 hours per year, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence, of up to twelve (12) weeks, during a twelve (12) month period, for one or more of the following:
Interim Benefits Coverage 4.3.1 For the current term the Boards agree to contribute funds to support the Trust as follows:
