Common use of Beneficiary Designation Clause in Contracts

Beneficiary Designation. The designation of a person other than the Annuitant’s Spouse as the beneficiary of the Plan will not be valid if the Annuitant has a Spouse who is entitled to survivor benefits under the Plan because of Pension Legislation.
