BASE CLOSURE. 47-2.01 The Company agrees to formally notify the Union ninety (90) Calendar Days before the anticipated base closure date, in writing, prior to closing any active base.
47-2.02 The Company and the Union recognize the value of meeting prior to a base closure occurring. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss options to minimize the impact on affected Cabin Personnel, discuss how the process of reduction will take place, and review the current Master Seniority List.
47-2.03 In the event of a base closure, Cabin Personnel may be required by the Company to transfer to another base, based on the Master Seniority List. This transfer and any relocation costs will be in accordance with the Article 48 – Relocation.
BASE CLOSURE. In the event of a base closure the Employer will notify the union and employees as soon as possible. The Employer will provide a minimum of sixty (60) days’ notice for the closing of a base outside Washington State and a minimum of six (6) weeks’ notice for the closing of a base inside Washington State. The employees will be laid off in order of seniority using the following process:
A. a bump pool of nurses working in ALNW positions equal to the number of nurses being laid off as a result of the base closure will be developed. The bump pool will consist of the least senior nurses working throughout the Airlift Northwest system.
B. in order of seniority, nurses from the base being closed will be offered the opportunity to displace any junior nurse in the bump pool.
C. nurses who choose not to displace a junior nurse from the bump pool and nurses for whom there is no displacement option will be placed on the Airlift Northwest rehire list and will have full rehire rights in accordance with Article 38 – Seniority, Layoff, Rehire.
D. Nurses displaced as a result of (A) above, will be placed on the rehire list and will not have the opportunity to displace a less senior nurse.
BASE CLOSURE. In the event of base closure, which prevents the employee from working all or part of their regularly scheduled hours, the employee will be allowed to choose one of the following:
1. Be allowed the opportunity to make up lost time at management’s discretion
2. Use accrued PTO or Floating/Banked Holiday
3. Take the time as unpaid
BASE CLOSURE. A Base Closure will be handled in the same manner as Section 5-5 [POSITION REDUCTION(S) AND DISPLACEMENT(S)]. Pilots holding the same equipment assignment shall be permitted to make a mutual exchange of base provided:

In the event the Company ceases its operation at a base, it is recognized that the provisions governing Staff Reductions may not fully or adequately deal with the impact on the employees affected. Therefore it is agreed that when such changes are implemented by the Company, the following provisions shall apply.

BASE CLOSURE. 22-1.01 In the event the Company closes a Base, it is recognized that the provisions of Article 20 – Layoff and Recall may not adequately deal with the impact on the Employees affected. Therefore, it is agreed that if the Company announces a Base closure, this Article shall apply.
22-1.02 The Company shall provide notice to the Union prior to closing a Base and shall meet the Union for the purpose of minimizing the effect on Employees.
22-1.03 Notwithstanding the provisions of 22-1.01 and 22-1.02 above, Employees who are subject to Base closure shall have the option of:
(a) Terminating their employment with the Company;
(b) Voluntarily relocating to another Base by displacing a junior Employee at that Base; or
(c) Voluntarily relocating to another Base by accepting an offer from the Company for a vacant Position at that Base.
22-1.04 Employees electing to terminate employment in accordance with 22-1.03(a) above will be entitled to select and receive one of the following severance options: Receive severance of one (1) week of pay for each completed year of continuous employment with the Company, at the Employee’s regular rate of pay based on their average weekly hours worked over the previous fifty-two
BASE CLOSURE. If a base closes, a Pilot awaiting staffing on different equipment will be assigned in system seniority, based on the Pilot’s preference and the needs of the Company. The duration of the displacement assignment will be limited to the effective date of the Pilot’s system staffing award. A displaced Pilot will bid his seniority within the assigned base. He will be given all the travel, per diem, and lodging benefits of a special assigned Pilot unless he is advanced to his awarded base.
BASE CLOSURE. (a) Prior to the closure of a base the Company shall provide the President of the Local with as much notice as possible, but in no event will such notice be less than thirty (30) calendar days, outlining the number, names, status and seniority of employees who will be affected and the expected date of the closure.
(b) Employees employed at a base which is to be closed shall have options as outlined in Article 11.02 (c) (ii), (iii), (iv), (v). An employee who elects the severance option will be eligible for one pass for each completed year of service.
(c) An employee who has received notice of a base closure must advise the Company with respect to her/his choice of options provided in Article 11.02 or
BASE CLOSURE. The employer recognizes the fact that there are times when inclement weather, a natural disaster, or any other planned or unplanned event may close an installation where its employees are assigned. In the event that a closing occurs, employees will not be required to report to work. Employees may be excused and may use personal leave, vacation leave or leave without pay. Employees will not be forced to use leave or to make up lost hours. However, employees will not be paid for hours not worked. Employees may also be subject to paying medical premiums if the number of hours drop below 36 hours. No leave will be charged to the employee. This only applies when site is closed to all non-essential personnel.
