Common use of Backup Clause in Contracts

Backup. The Contractor shall put in place and operate a back-up policy for the protection of the University Data and to ensure compliance with the Schedule. Such backup policy should include, but not be limited to a requirement that appropriate backups are taken at regular intervals and that such backups are retained securely. Backups should be sufficient in frequency to ensure that any potential loss of University Data requiring a ‘restore from backup’ is minimised (such that the loss is limited to one Business day). The Contractor should ensure that both backup and restoration processes are tested at regular intervals to ensure their veracity, effectiveness, adequacy and appropriateness.
