Availability for Duty. Where an employee is on availability duty (as defined by Clause 22.11 of the Award), he/she shall be paid an, ‘Availability for Duty Allowance’ of a minimum of $100.00 per week increasing to $105.00 per week on 1 July 2006, $110.00 per week on 1 July 2008 and $115.00 per week on 1 July 2010. Companies who have superior arrangements will maintain those superior arrangements.

An employee may elect that he/she is not to be placed on the ‘Availability for Duty’ roster. This will be at the discretion of the employee whether or not he/she will make themselves available. The minimum payment for Availability for Duty call is 4 hours per day/night. Chubb, in consultation with the employees, will develop Availability for Duty roster. This roster will constitute a minimum of 6 employees. The employees will receive the Availability for Duty allowance for each week that they make themselves available to be on the roster. The allowance will not be paid for periods of leave or absences taken. An employee who is on Availability for Duty roster will receive a minimum six hours break from the time they finish on-site. Provided that an employee who is required to work Monday to Friday or part thereof between the hours of 1am to 5am inclusive, shall be afforded a rest period of six hours. Such rest period to commence at the normal starting time on that day.

Availability for Duty. Employees who are on an on-call roster have the appropriate Availability Allowance built into their hourly rate. Where Employees are on-call and provide their own mobile phones, they will be reimbursed upon presentation of their mobile phone account, up to a maximum of $75 per month. Employees with pre-paid mobile phones will be provided with a recharge card up to a maximum of $75 per month. Mobile phone accounts must be presented for reimbursement no later than one month after the date of issue of the account. Such Employees will be available to representatives of the Company, including powerstation and distribution operators, customers and members of the public by means of mobile telephone.
