Automatic Payroll Deduction. The Board agrees to automatic payroll deduction, as a condition of employment, of an amount equal to the dues of the United Education Profession (B.E.A., UniServ, NEOEA, OEA, NEA) from the pay of all members (excluding members on leave of absence and casual substitutes) who elect not to become members of the United Education Profession (UEP), or who elect not to remain members.

An employee may cancel their payroll deduction of dues and fees by written notice to the Union and to the District, with the District stopping deductions following written confirmation from the Union that 2022-2024 Collective Bargaining Agreement between Seattle Public Schools and Seattle/King County Building and Construction Trades Counsel the employee dues/fees authorization has been terminated in compliance with the terms of the written authorization executed by the employee. The District will make every effort to end the automatic dues deduction effective on the first pay period but no later than the second pay period after receipt of the written cancellation notice.

  • Payroll Deduction 27. The Union shall provide the Employee Relations Director and the City Controller with a current statement of membership fees. Such statement of membership fees shall be amended as necessary. The Controller may take up to thirty (30) days to implement such changes.
