Common use of Authority of Arbitrator Clause in Contracts

Authority of Arbitrator. The arbitrator shall only be authorized to exercise the powers specifically enumerated by this procedure and to decide the dispute in accordance with governing principles of law and equity. The arbitrator shall have no authority to modify the powers granted by the terms of this procedure or to modify the terms of the employee handbook, except as required by law.
