Audition Leave. Upon request a staff musician may take an unpaid leave to attend an audition. If the musician misses only the first rehearsal of the subscription program, they may play the remainder of the week. If the musician misses more than the first rehearsal, the employer will determine whether the rest of the week is to be taken as unpaid leave, or if the musician may play the remainder of the week. Any request not falling in the previous two categories will be determined on an individual basis. Employer shall have the right to import from other locals of the Federation and employ substitute Musicians and Extra Musicians to perform in positions left vacant because of such leaves by Staff Musicians. Before hiring from outside of the local, the Employer will go through the process described in Section 22.3, paragraph 14.

  • Transition Leave At the Appointing Authority’s discretion an employee under notice of permanent layoff may be granted up to one hundred and sixty (160) hours of paid leave, ending at the date of layoff. Hours of leave may be granted at any time throughout the layoff notice period and shall not be subject to the Application and Reinstatement provision of this Article.

  • Vacation Leave A part-time employee shall earn vacation leave credits for each month in which the employee receives pay for at least twice the number of hours in the employee’s normal workweek, at the rate for years of service established in clause 34.02 of this Agreement, prorated and calculated as follows:

  • Examination Leave 35.3.1 Examination leave with pay shall be granted for an employee to write an examination for an accredited secondary school, technological institute or university subject, provided the course of study of the employee concerned can reasonably be construed by the Council as likely to increase the employee’s usefulness to the Council and is not an examination for a completely extraneous subject.

  • Recall from Vacation Leave Where, during any period of vacation leave, an employee is recalled to duty, such employee shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses, as normally defined by the Employer, that such employee incurs:

  • Education Leave (a) If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications.

  • Graduation Leave It is understood that in the case of secondary or post secondary graduation of self or spouse, son or daughter, one day leave with pay shall be granted. Two (2) days leave with pay shall be granted where travel arrangements necessitate such absence from school.

  • VACATION LEAVE WITH PAY 14.01 The vacation year shall be from April 1st of one calendar year to March 31st of the following calendar year inclusive.

  • Annual Vacation Leave 30.01 An Employee shall not take vacation leave without prior authorization from the Employer.

  • Carer’s Leave An employee may use up to 10 days accrued sick days as carers leave to tend to the care for members of the employee’s immediate household. The leave will be subject to the employee providing reasonable proof of the need for the use of xxxxx’s leave. In circumstances where the employee has exhausted all of the paid leave, a further 2 days unpaid leave may be taken.

  • Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year. Such leaves of absence will be without pay but with maintenance and accumulation of benefits (normal payroll deductions to apply).
