Common use of Audit Trails Clause in Contracts

Audit Trails. GRANTEE shall maintain appropriate audit trails to provide accountability for updates to mission critical information, charges, procedures, and performances. Audit trails maintained by GRANTEE will, at a minimum, identify the supporting documentation prepared by GRANTEE to permit an audit of the system by tracing the activities of individuals through the system. GRANTEE's automated systems must provide the means whereby authorized personnel have the ability to audit and to verify contractually required performances and to establish individual accountability for any action that can potentially cause access to, generation of, or modification of confidential information. XXXXXXX agrees that XXXXXXX's failure to maintain adequate audit trails and corresponding documentation shall create a presumption that the services or performances were not performed.
