ATTENDANCE POLICIES. There shall be a no-fault attendance policy using a rolling 10-month period and the following point system. An occurrence is a single day of absence or consecutive days of absence for the same reason. • Sick Occurrence = 1 point • Use of Sick Leave for medical, dental or vision care appointments when 48 hour advance notice is provided = ½ point • Late or leave early (up to 60 minutes) = ½ point • Late or leave early (in excess of 60 minutes) = 1 point • Unpaid Absence Occurrence (except for Voluntary Time Off taken pursuant to Section 5) = 1 points Progressive Discipline: • 8 points = 1st written warning • 9 points = 2nd written warning • 10 points = one-day suspension without pay • 11 points = two day suspension without pay • 12 points = termination Exclusions – authorized FMLA absences shall not count as an occurrence. This attendance policy shall become effective prospectively upon ratification of this Agreement based on attendance records from that date forward.

ATTENDANCE POLICIES. The CCOS provisions for no fault attendance policies shall be understood to apply to overtime for which the employee has volunteered. After an employee has volunteered to work before his/her shift or after the end of his/her shift and they fail to work and complete such overtime, it shall be considered a late or leave early (1/2 point). An employee who volunteers to work during a day off but fails to work such day shall be charged with a single day of absence (1 point), and will be subject to a late or leave early (1/2 point) if they arrive late or leave early on such an overtime day. This is intended merely as a clarification (not a change) of the CCOS provisions on Attendance Policies.
ATTENDANCE POLICIES. Students taking college courses that are held in a high school facility during regular school hours will be subject to the Flagler County School Board’s attendance regulations and all other Flagler County School Board Policies. Students taking college courses that are held at Daytona State College facilities and at high school facilities after regular school hours will be subject to all College policies and procedures.

If a parent or guardian does not have access to a telephone, a note verifying knowledge of the absence will need to be written. The school must be contacted within 24 hours of the beginning of the absence or the absence will be unexcused. The office staff or administration will attempt to contact the parent or guardian if a call or note has not been received concerning an absence. If a student goes home at any time and does not return, the school must be notified by telephone or note as mentioned above. Any time a student leaves the building, he or she must check with the main office first and explain the reason for wanting to leave. Parental permission is normally required. When the student returns, they must check in at the office. Failure to follow these procedures will result in an unexcused absence.

ATTENDANCE POLICIES. Belief Statements about Attendance There is a direct relationship between academic and social emotional success and attending school. Students having good attendance achieve better grades, are more responsible, and gain more from the school experience than those who have poor attendance. It is expected that students will attend school regularly, and will be on time for classes in order to maximize the benefits they can expect from school. Procedures when absent from school Parents/Guardians of students who are absent from school are asked to telephone the Attendance Office (254-5020) between 7:20 a.m. and 3:20 p.m., the day of the absence or tardy and inform the school of the reason for the absence or tardy. If the Attendance Office does not receive a call, the absence is unexcused.

Academic progress and achievement as well as work and study habits are reliant on prompt, regular attendance. Classes begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Tardiness and absences disrupt class as well. Students are expected to attend school every day unless they have an excused absence. All absences and tardies, whether excused or unexcused, count in the total absences for the year.

  • Attendance Policy In order to maximize learning opportunities, attendance is expected at all college and clinical sessions. Campus laboratory classes are usually demonstrations of essential nursing skills. There is no effective way to “make-up” missed laboratory classes, therefore the instructor may require attendance. For all clinical absences, the student must call the clinical setting a minimum of 30 minutes before the scheduled beginning time of the clinical session that will be missed and leave a message for the appropriate instructor. Any exception to this rule will be noted in writing in the individual course syllabus and green sheet. Students who miss more than 10% of the clinical days in a course may not be able to meet course objectives. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the appropriate instructor to determine “make- up” assignments for all absences. If a student has excess absences as defined in a particular course, the student’s status may be reviewed by the nursing faculty. The student may not be able to satisfactorily meet course objectives and may earn a failing grade.

  • Attendance Records The Employer shall maintain accurate, daily attendance records. An employee shall have the right to review his/her time and pay records on file with the Employer.

  • Attendance Management Days of absence arising out of a medically-established serious chronic condition, an ongoing course of treatment, a catastrophic event, absence for which WSIB benefits are payable, medically necessary surgical interventions, or days where the employee is asymptomatic and is under a doctor’s care from the commencement of symptoms for a confirmed communicable disease (and has provided medical substantiation of such symptoms) but is required to be absent under the Hospital or public health authority protocol, will not be counted for the purposes of being placed on, or progressing through, the steps of an attendance management program. Leaves covered under the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and leaves under Article 11 will not be counted for the purposes of being placed on, or progressing through, the steps of an attendance management program.

  • Attendance Incentive It is the desire of both the Employer and the Union to provide consistent quality bus service for all students. It is also a mutual desire to have qualified permanent District bus drivers available to drive all identified bus routes.
