ATTENDANCE AT WORK. Each team member is expected to contribute to CAMI’s success by being at work, on time, every day. In order to ensure orderly operations and the least inconvenience to team members at work, team members will be required to request any leave of absence in advance. In the case of an unavoidable absence for reasons that could not have been anticipated, team members will be expected to report by telephone prior to the start of their work shift when possible. When circumstances prevent a team member from providing such notice prior to the start of their shift, it shall be their responsibility to do so as soon thereafter as possible.
ATTENDANCE AT WORK. 10.01 Employees are required to attend work regularly. When unable to attend, the employee must contact the Human Resources Department as far in advance as possible of his/her scheduled start time, giving the reason he/she is unable to attend work, date of his/her expected return, and the details as to where he/she can be contacted in his/her absence. An employee may be required by the Company to substantiate the reasons for any absence, his/her expected date of return, and his/her limitations, if any, or may be required to be examined by an Independent Medical Examiner (IME). Such IME may be selected by the employee from among a list of IME’s established by the Company. If the Company requires the employee to be examined by an IME, the Company will pay the cost of such examination.
ATTENDANCE AT WORK. 24.1.1 In order to maintain an efficient production unit to serve both employer and employee interests, it is essential that employees are both regular and punctual in their work attendance. 24.1.2 It is recognised and understood that absences will occur and many times these will be unavoidable. 24.2.1 While absolute standards cannot be set down for work attendance, up-to-date records will be maintained for each employee and performance monitored and reported on a quarterly basis. 24.2.2 Wherever an employee's absence appears excessive, this will be discussed with the employee and the Union Representative in the first instance. 24.2.3 Should such an employee's attendance remain at an unacceptable level then firmer action, possible disciplinary action, may be taken in accordance with clause 23, Discipline Procedure. 24.2.4 Subject to the provisions of clause 12, Jury Service, clause 14, Holidays, clause 15, Sick Leave, clause 16, Annual Leave, clause 17, Bereavement Leave and clause 18 Long Service Leave, any employee who is absent from work for a continuous period of three days shall be deemed to have abandoned his/her or her employment. Termination of employment by abandonment in accordance with this sub-clause shall operate as from the date of the last attendance at work or the last day's absence in respect of which consent was granted, whichever is the latter.

Frequent absence, failure to call-in prior to the scheduled workday, tardiness, late call-in, and/or early departure disrupts the schedules of students, co-workers, and the operations of the District. Failure to meet attendance expectations will lead to discipline, up to and including termination of employment. B. Where the Superintendent or designee suspects that a bargaining unit member has abused or otherwise misused paid sick leave or any other form of leave, the Superintendent or designee shall notify the bargaining unit member in writing and meet with the bargaining unit member, together with a union representative to review the member’s attendance record. The Superintendent or designee shall provide a written record of the meeting to the bargaining unit member to which the bargaining unit member may reply in writing. The record of the meeting, together with any written reply from the bargaining unit member, shall be placed in the bargaining unit member’s personnel file and may also be noted on any evaluation instrument. Abuse and/or misuse of paid sick leave or any other form of leave shall include but not be limited to the following: excessive use, patterned use, unfounded use, inappropriate use, incorrect use, and/or improper use. C. Failure to call-in or report off in advance of the scheduled workday, late call-in, early departures, and tardiness shall be measured and recorded on an “occurrence” basis. ATTENDANCE AT WORK. (i) In the event that the Employee does attend for work when required or does not perform the work that the Employer lawfully and reasonably directs, the Employee will not be paid for the time of non-attendance or non-performance of the work as directed. (ii) Should the Employee not attend for three successive work periods when required to perform work, and fail to advise the Employer for the reasons for the absences, the Employer will regard the Employee as having abandoned their employment without an intention to resume, with an effective termination date from the first day of such absence.
ATTENDANCE AT WORK. 14.1 Attendance of employees at their place of work shall be recorded by: automatic time register; attendance record register or other such means as may be determined by the Employer. 14.2 Each employee is required to record their attendance on arrival at and departure from the place of work in both the forenoon and the afternoon of each working day or on any other occasion when on duty. If an employee fails to record their attendance then the employee may be denied payment of salary for the work period that is incompletely recorded. 14.3 Any employee without the authority of the Director or his or her designate who: 14.3.1 Tampers with an attendance record or, 14.3.2 Records time on or in the register for another employee or, 14.3.3 Induces another employee to record his or her attendance for him or her, whether falsely or not, on or in the register or, 14.3.4 In any manner, falsifies their attendance record is liable to dismissal. 14.4 A shift employee who is absent from duty without prior authorization shall inform the Department Head or his or her designate and shall communicate the reason for his or her absence to the Department Head or his or her designate as soon as possible and, in any case, within the first hour of such absence unless it is shown that it was impossible to do so. 14.5 Any leave of absence from duty for which pay may be allowed, excepting sick leave, must be applied for and authorized by the Department Head or his or her designate before such leave is taken. 14.6 When an employee returns to their duties after a period of absence, the reasons for their absence shall be entered in his or her attendance report or record card. 14.7 An employee who is late arriving at work shall report the reason therefore to the Department Head or his or her designate. If they consider that no deduction of pay should be made for such lateness, the Human Resources Department shall be notified. 14.8 When pay is deducted for lateness, such deduction shall be made at the following rates: 14.8.1 For lateness of 1 to 5 minutes - no deduction. 14.8.2 For lateness of 6 to 15 minutes - one-quarter hour pay. 14.8.3 For lateness of 16 to 30 minutes - one-half hour pay. 14.8.4 For every additional half-hour lateness or fraction thereof: an additional half- hour pay. 14.9 During working hours, no employee shall take leave from the University Campus or premises at which he is employed without the permission of the Department Head or his or her designate.
