Association Member. Employees who voluntarily join the Association shall pay Association membership dues as described in Section 103.1. The District will not restrain an employee from belonging to the Association or from taking an active part in the Association’s affairs or will not discriminate against an employee because of Association membership or lawful organizational activity.

Association Member. If shall be the function of the nursing committee to discuss with the Employer matters of mutual concern. For these purposes, meetings may be called at the request of either party upon reasonable notice, such notice to include a reference to the matters proposed to be discussed. Such topics for discussion shall be exclusive of matters which are properly the concern of the negotiating and grievance representatives and such discussions shall be conducted without prejudice to the rights of the parties under this agreement. The Association will provide the with the names of officers and representatives. This list will be revised when changes occur. As far as possible, all Association business will be carried on outside of the regular working hours of those nurses involved such business. However, appears necessary that a representative must leave her regular duties for a short period of time in order to attend to Association business in the facility, she must first obtain permission from her supervisor. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. Upon completion of her business, the representative will report to her supervisor and then return to her regular duties. The Association Committee shall have the right to have the assistance of an Association representative from outside the employment of the facility. Members of the grievance committee, the nursing committee and the negotiation committee will be paid their regular rate of pay for all time used during regularly scheduled hours of work in attending meetings, up to and including conciliation, and fulfilling other duties directly related to their responsibilities as committee members. The Employer agrees to provide a Nurse Representative of the Association with a reasonable period of time within the orientation program in order to meet with hired nurses.

Association Member. Any person who through voluntary decision or as a result of contractual or statutory requirement, has joined the local, state and National association Association Representative – A local Association’s representative in a worksite or department elected by union members (or sometimes appointed by the union) to carry out union duties, adjust grievances, collect dues and solicit new members. Bargaining Agent – An association or union that is named as the exclusive representative for all of the people covered, or who will be covered, by the agreement. The bargaining agent may be determined voluntarily by an employer as a result of a written request by the association/union, or as the result of an election conducted by the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board (IELRB). Bargaining Committee – A group of Association members who task it is to conduct any appropriate survey or research necessary to identify the issues for bargaining and/or to develop the Association’s initial proposals for bargaining. Bargaining Team – The association/union or employer negotiators who will actually be at the bargaining table and actively involved in the negotiations towards a contract.

  • Association Membership In accordance with applicable laws, the Employer/Appointing Authority shall not discriminate against, interfere with, restrain or coerce an employee from exercising his/her right to join or not to join the Association, or participate in an official capacity on behalf of the Association, which is in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. The Association shall not discriminate against, interfere with, restrain or coerce an employee from exercising the right to join or not to join the Association, and will not discriminate against any employee in the administration of this Agreement because of non-membership in the Association.

  • Union Membership Every employee who is now or hereafter becomes a member of the Union shall maintain membership in the Union as a condition of employment, and every new employee whose employment commences hereafter shall, within thirty (30) days after the commencement of employment, apply for and maintain membership in the Union, as a condition of employment, provided that any employee in the appropriate bargaining unit, who is not required to maintain membership or apply for and maintain membership in the Union, shall, as a condition of employment, tender to the Union the periodic dues uniformly required to be paid by the members of the Union.

  • Association Meetings The Association shall have the right to use school facilities for meetings without cost after the regular students’ school day.

  • Association-Management Committee There shall be an Association-Management Committee comprised of two (2) representatives of the parties. The Committee shall meet quarterly, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Agenda items to be discussed shall be exchanged in writing at least five calendar days prior to the meeting. Meetings of this Committee will be to discuss matters of mutual concern, matters relating to nursing, professional practice, scheduling and work load issues. The Committee shall promote and provide for effective and meaningful communication. The parties agree Self Scheduling is appropriate subject matter to discuss in this forum.

  • UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES CHECK-OFF 7.01 All Employees covered by this Agreement shall become members of the Union as a condition of employment. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Employees currently employed by the Board, who have previously opted out of membership in the Union, shall not be compelled to join.
