Association Involvement. An individual selected by the KPFFA shall oversee all stages of the promotional process. The responsibility of this individual will be limited to the observation of the process to ensure the terms of the collective agreement have been adhered to for each candidate.

Association Involvement. At times the district may need to form short-term teams to address particular issues. Association leadership or designees will be included in any short-term solution team. To assure the continuation of open communications between the administration and the teachers, and to facilitate progress toward the goal of maintaining the general working conditions and the conditions of employment at the highest minimum standards, the superintendent and the Association President shall meet and confer on a regular basis during the school year (not less than monthly) to discuss matters of mutual concern. Association leadership will be involved in the yearly enrollment review meeting (referred to as “5th day”) in which final staffing allocations are determined based on actual student enrollment. The role of the Association representative in this meeting is to communicate and address employee needs and concerns.

Basis for Sick Leave will be the: (a) illness of the employee; (b) illness of a member of the employee's family, including: spouse, employee’s (or spouse's) child, parent, brother, or sister; (c) adoption; (d) bereavement. Xxxx leave may be allowed at the discretion of the Superintendent, or designee, for illness of other relatives of the employee not mentioned above.
Association Involvement. The Association shall have the right to review the layoff list five (5) business days prior to the notification of individuals to be laid off. The close of business (4:30 p.m.) on the fifth (5th) business day next following the Association's receipt of the list (not counting the day it is received) shall be the effective day of such layoff(s) and any rehiring or recalling of personnel or hiring of new personnel thereafter shall be in accordance with Board policy. The Association may file a grievance within said five (5) business day period, provided, however, that the filing of such a grievance or grievances shall not prevent the Board from implementing the layoff as proposed.
