ASSOCIATION DUTIES. The Employer recognizes the role of the Association's officers and bargaining team in labour management relations, and shall not discriminate against them. Provided that the needs of the Employee's department can be met, the Employer shall approve requests for absence from work with usual remuneration to enable Employees to represent the Association on the following basis:

ASSOCIATION DUTIES. 13.01 The President and Secretary, or their designate, of the Shelburne Police Association shall be granted three (3) days absence to conduct the business of the Association during the course of the year subject to the Chief’s approval. No more than two (2) members of the Shelburne Police Association shall be absent from duty to conduct Association business at one time. This absence shall be granted with full pay. At no time shall the above leave be granted if it would result in a staffing shortage or premium pay for replacement staff.
ASSOCIATION DUTIES. An Occasional Teacher elected to the position of President of the Local or assigned/designated by the Local to perform Association duties shall: if the duties of the office are such that the teacher(s) is required to be unavailable for assignment be retained on the Board’s Occasional Teacher List in an inactive status during the period of such unavailability. Where such Occasional Teacher is attending the Association business on a day to day basis, such absence shall not be considered as a “refusal” for purposes of Article 13.07.
