ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. 11.1 The Employer agrees to provide reasonable access to the University's premises to representatives of Association of Nova Scotia University Teachers (ANSUT), Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), National Union of CAUT (NUCAUT), Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), Cape Breton District Labour Council (CBDLC), or legal counsel (or other resource people invited by the Association), provided that:

An employee may utilize either Association Leave as defined in Section C., below, annual leave, or compensatory time off for Association functions including attendance at conventions, conferences, seminars, and any meetings held during scheduled work hours in which discussion of Association business occurs, subject to prior approval of the supervising Sergeant, Police Chief and/or the City Manager.
ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. 2.1 The Association shall conduct its business off duty as much as possible, however upon giving as much advance notice as possible and receiving approval from the Fire Chief or his designee, meetings may take place in appropriate locations of the firehouses as long as the meetings do not unreasonably interfere with the orderly and efficient operation of the department. Requests for such meetings shall not be unreasonably denied.

Association Board Member's Time For the purpose of representation of members within the bargaining unit, the Association shall be entitled to a reasonable and adequate number of Association Board members. They shall restrict their activities to dealing with grievances and other legitimate Association business and shall be allowed a reasonable amount of time for this purpose. However, the City is under no obligation to pay Association Board Members for time spent conducting Association business when they are not scheduled to work. Every effort shall be made to schedule grievance meetings and hearings during regular work hours.

ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. Section 1: The Association shall be allowed to conduct meetings of the Executive Board and also special meetings pertaining to labor negotiations between the parties, the election of officers and directors or other corporate official business constituting something other than general monthly meetings, in appropriate locations of the firehouse during normal stand-by hours upon giving twenty-four (24) hours prior notice to the office of the Chief. Notices and bulletins concerning Association business or affairs may be posted on bulletin boards to be provided by the City providing that such notices and/or bulletins are authorized by an officer or director of the Association.
ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS. 3.01 The Association shall notify the Chief in writing of the names of Association officers and members of the Grievance and Bargaining Committee. The Association shall provide to the Chief such periodic notices in writing as are needed to keep the Chief currently informed. To facilitate a prompt response to an emergency recall to duty, the Association shall be allowed to conduct its meetings in appropriate locations within the fire stations of the City, free of charge, with the prior approval of the Chief or other officer in charge. If employees on duty are involved, such meetings shall occur after 6:00 p.m., providing, however, that members of the Association Executive Board who are on duty may leave the employee's assigned station to participate in such meetings with the prior approval of the officer in charge. The Association shall advise the Chief in writing, upon selection of the names of the Association officers and members appointed to the Grievance and Bargaining Affairs Committee.

The Executive of the Association may establish committees at its discretion; however, only members recognized in article shall communicate with the Company on Association business. Recommendations made by such committees shall be communicated to the Company by the Executive. Individual members may communicate with the appropriate Company personnel at any time with regard to matters of a personal and/or singular nature. The Association shall designate one member and three alternate members to monitor the bid award process for monthly schedules and annual vacation. Any of these designated members shall also monitor the awarding of assignments as defined by this agreement. These roles shall be advisory in nature to ensure compliance with the scheduling rules. The Company agrees to release one member of the Association Executive for the purpose of conducting Association and Company related business. This Flight Crew Member shall be credited as per for each day released. Such release and subsequent credit must be by the Company. It is recognized that a Flight Crew Member may be required to attend Association business that allows credit as per Article Such attendance and subsequent credit must be by the Company. The Association may post notices upon Company designated bulletin boards wherever Association members are based. Such notices will contain Association related matters. The Association understands the requirements to conduct its affairs in a professional and business-like manner. The Association may distribute Association mail to Flight Crew Members via Company mail and through the use of Flight Crew Members' mail slots provided at Company bases. The Company will bear no responsibility for delays or other distribution problems. The Company will permit the use of its photocopy machine to reproduce Association notices and correspondence, provided it does not interfere with normal office activities.
