Assisted Leave. The University recognizes the value of continuing education to the advancement of the University, the employees and community as a whole. With this in mind the Bargaining Unit members shall be entitled to apply for assisted leave to improve their qualifications or to pursue a higher degree subject to the following conditions and the needs of the University:

Assisted Leave. (PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT LEAVE OF ABSENCE) It is recognized that many opportunities for professional development require a longer period of time than is available between the spring and fall instructional periods. In order to encourage faculty to take advantage of these opportunities, a program of professional development leave of absence has been developed.

Related to Assisted Leave

  • Paid Leave (a) An employee who is a volunteer member of the Defence Force Reserves or the Cadet Force is entitled to paid leave of absence for Defence service, subject to the conditions set out hereunder.

  • Casual Leave (a) Employees may be granted casual leave with pay to a maximum of two (2) hours for the following purposes:

  • Court Leave 35.4.1 Leave of absence with pay shall be given to every employee, other than an employee on leave of absence without pay, or under suspension, who is required

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part- time employees who are elected to or appointed to the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario subject to the following limitations:

  • Accumulated Leave Employees may accumulate vacation leave to a maximum of forty (40) hours over and above the employee's maximum annual earning rate. No additional vacation leave shall be earned until such time as the employee=s accumulated vacation leave drops below the stated maximum. In such event, the accumulation of vacation leave will again commence, but in no event shall it exceed forty (40) hours over and above the employee=s maximum earning rate.

  • Legal Leave 19.12.1The University shall grant leave of absence with pay to a member of faculty who is called to serve as a juror or a witness in a court of law in a matter in which he/she is not a party or an accused.

  • Childcare Leave Every employee who has served the Company for at least three months and who has a child below the age of seven (7) years shall be entitled to the prescribed number of days of paid childcare leave in a year in accordance with the relevant provisions in the Children Development Co-Savings Act or the Employment Act, as the case may be.

  • Funeral Leave Section 30.1 In the event of the death of a parent, spouse, child, sister, brother, mother-in- law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent of the Employee or spouse, grandchild of the Employee, or “xxxxxx” or “step” situations within these relationships, the Employee shall be allowed a leave of absence with pay of two (2) consecutive (eight or ten hour) workdays.

  • Donated Leave There shall be a Donated Leave program at each College/University for professional staff and librarians. The procedures for the Donated Leave program will be negotiated between the College/University and the Local Union. This provision shall not apply to Colleges/Universities that already have an established Donated Leave program.

  • Civic Leave Section 1 - Election Board Employees may be granted leave for public services on Election Boards with compensation for the difference between payment for election Board duty and the regular salary, provided the school salary is greater.
