Assignment of Cases among home instructors who are not presently employed as regular teachers shall be made by certification and seniority in the program. Retired Toledo teachers and members of the bargaining unit shall be offered new home instruction assignments before other applicants. Availability of these assignments shall be published in the Staff Bulletin.

Assignment of Cases. The Society undertakes to utilize a variety of methods in an ongoing effort to effectively manage work and to promote the equitable and reasonable distribution of work. Factors to be taken into consideration prior to assigning cases may include and are not limited to the following: • number of cases before the court • number of designated high risk cases • number of supervised access visits • amount of driving time required • linguistic skills required to service the cases • status of all cases (eg. number pending closure/transfer) • team coverage capacity • leaves of absence, including vacation and sick leave • complexity of cases affecting service needs • assigned committee work/field instruction • implementation of new technology and systems • participation in joint committee work and dispute resolution • coaching and mentoring of new staff • requirement to attend or present at training sessions • high profile and/or contentious cases
