Assigning Shifts. The Company will assign qualified employees to the available shift or day assignments on an annual or semi- annual time schedule. With respect to the above assignments, the practice will be as follows:

Assigning Shifts. It is the responsibility of the employee on shift to fill any vacant shifts due to employee illness or other approved leave of absences. If outside normal hours of work then the person on call will be responsible to fill shift any way possible. The opportunities will be offered by seniority and classification prior to offering to casual employees. The use of overtime will be the last option utilized when filling shifts.
Assigning Shifts. The City agrees to continue its process of not assigning shifts as a form of disciplinary action. Among Firefighter/EMTs and Paramedics, when a shift becomes permanently open, the Union will be notified and The City will post a dated Notice of the shift vacancy for fourteen (14) calendar days. Employees who want the shift shall sign the Notice and date their signature. While the shift vacancy is being bid, the Chief may fill the shift as he/she sees fit. The employee with the greatest departmental seniority who bid the shift will be given preference provided he can begin the shift immediately. Seniority shall not prevail in an instance where the operational needs of the department cannot be met. The Department agrees to honor assigned time off (vacation and trades) for employees who are required to transfer shifts by the Department in order to distribute manpower requirements. Prior to the Department re-assigning time off, Employee shall make every effort to obtain trades. (Intentionally left blank)

  • Teaching Assignment For teaching faculty, the teaching assignment will be one or a combination of programs, courses, or student originated studies offerings (all of which are collectively referred to as “academic offerings” below). For full-time faculty the normal teaching assignment will be a program. For part-time faculty the normal assignment is either a program and/or course(s), depending on the terms of their contract. In addition, faculty may support individual learning contracts.

  • Subcontracting; Assignment The Contractor may not subcontract any portion of the services provided under this Contract without obtaining the prior written approval of the Procurement Officer, nor may the Contractor assign this Contract or any of its rights or obligations hereunder, without the prior written approval of the Procurement Officer provided, however, that a contractor may assign monies receivable under a contract after due notice to the State. Any subcontracts shall include such language as may be required in various clauses contained within this Contract, exhibits, and attachments. The Contract shall not be assigned until all approvals, documents, and affidavits are completed and properly registered. The State shall not be responsible for fulfillment of the Contractor’s obligations to its subcontractors.

  • ASSIGNMENT AND SUB-CONTRACTING 19.1 The Contractor shall not assign or sub-contract any obligations under the Contract without the prior consent of the Authority, which shall not be unreasonably withheld or delayed. Sub-contracting any part of the Contract shall not relieve the Contractor of any of its obligations or duties.

  • Training Assignments The Supervisor or designee may establish written training assignments to enable an employee to gain the additional experience and training required for the job for a period of time not to exceed two years. At the completion of the training assignment, the employee’s pay will be set no less than the entry rate of pay for the occupational pay band.

  • SUB-CONTRACTING 31.1. The Authority approves the appointment of the sub-contractors specified in Schedule 10 (Approved Sub-contractors) in respect of the obligations specified in that Schedule.

  • Overtime Assignment A. In institutional settings when the Agency determines that overtime is necessary, overtime shall be offered on a rotating basis, to the qualified employees who usually work the shift where the opportunity occurs. If no qualified employees on the shift desire to work the overtime, it will be offered on a rotating basis first to the qualified employee with the most state seniority at the work site. When there are no volunteers to work the overtime as outlined above, and/or where an emergency exists, reasonable overtime hours may be required by the Agency. Such overtime shall be assigned, on a rotating basis, first to the qualified employee with the least state seniority at the work site. This policy shall not apply to overtime work which is specific to a particular employee’s claim load or specialized work assignment or when the incumbent is required to finish a work assignment.

  • ASSIGNMENT AND SUB-LETTING Tenant shall not assign this Agreement, or sub-let or grant any license to use the Premises or any part thereof without the prior written consent of Landlord. A consent by Landlord to one such assignment, sub-letting or license shall not be deemed to be a consent to any subsequent assignment, sub-letting or license. An assignment, sub-letting or license without the prior written consent of Landlord or an assignment or sub-letting by operation of law shall be absolutely null and void and shall, at Landlord's option, terminate this Agreement.
