ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION a) The Employer agrees to recognize a committee of five employees consisting of the President of the local, two (2) part time employees, and two (2) full time employees to negotiate amendments or renewals to this agreement, The Employer agrees to recognize elected Union stewards to assist employees in the presentation of any grievance that properly arises under the provisions of this agreement. The Union agrees to provide the Employer with lists of these stewards and any changes to this list as necessary. The Employer shall recognize up to four (4) employees plus the president of Local to act as Union representatives to the full-time and part-time Employee Relations Committee. It is understood that the committee shall meet periodically at the request of either party. Employees serving on the Employee Relations Committee or any Committee established to address issues of joint concern shall be paid at their regular rate of pay up to or hours per pay period or lieu time in excess of this (as per article a) and for time spent attending the Employee Relations Committee meetings. Part time employees will be paid at least the minimum shift at straight time Employees serving on the Union's Negotiating Committee shall be paid for lost time from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay, in direct contract negotiations, up to the point of arbitration, for renewal of this Collective Agreement. Upon reference to arbitration, the Negotiating Committee members shall receive unpaid time off with no loss of credits or benefits for the purpose of attending Arbitration Hearings. The Union shall advise the Employer, in writing, the names of its committee. The Employer shall not be obliged to recognize committee members until such time as written notice has been received. The Area Representative may attend meetings at the invitation of the local Union. A representative from may assist in negotiations.

ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION a) The Company and the Union recognize that stewards and members of the Negotiating Committee, the Grievance Committee, the Committee, the Safety Committee, representative and Contracting Out committee have regular duties to perform. Therefore such persons shall not leave their work for the purpose of conducting any business on behalf of the Union or other employees without first obtaining permission from their respective immediate supervisors. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld, and where it is not granted immediately it be granted as soon as possible. In recognition of employees observing the terms hereof, the Company will pay stewards and members of any Union Committee at their applicable rate of pay for time spent in meetings with the Company representatives or to union duties on the Company premises, when approved by the Company. An employee has access to his personal and medical file on record with the Company; and at his discretion may be accompanied by his Local Union Representative when reviewing such file. Copies of material contained in the employee’s personal file will be provided on request of the employee. Copies of the material contained in an employee’s medical file will be provided to the employee, subject to the discretion of the Company’s Doctor to withhold information for the reasons set out in the Health Disciplines Act. For the purpose of clarification, employees will normally only receive orders from their immediate xxxxxxx. ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION. The Union shall name a Shop Committee of not more than five (5) members, at least one (1) of which shall be from the who shall be employees of the Company covered by this Agreement. Matters pertaining to the interpretation, application, or administration of this Agreement shall be discussed and adjusted by the Company and the Shop Committee who shall meet as often as may be deemed necessary or at least once each month during working hours with a prepared agenda of matters to be discussed and adjusted. Only Shop Committee members, a Business Representative, and/or an International Officer of the Union shall be present at meetings with the Company. The Union may designate and the Company shall recognize Shop Stewards and a Shop Stewards for such work areas as shall be agreed by the parties hereto to be reasonable and proper. The Company shall be kept informed of the name of each Shop Xxxxxxx and Shop Stewards and the work area the Union has so designated him. He must not leave the Company premises without permission from the General Manager or his designate. The Company will supply adequate office space with a telephone, desk and chairs for the Shop Chairperson to perform his duties. The Company agrees to have the office space furnished and ready for use within days of the ratification of this Agreement. The Shop Committee, Shop Stewards and Shop Stewards shall perform the functions herein provided in such manner as to promote good order and shop discipline and with the least possible interference with the regular duties of their employment.

ARTICLE UNION REPRESENTATION. It is agreed that the Business Representative of the Union shall be admitted during working hours, at reasonable times, to interview employees while on duty or to inspect working conditions provided, however, that such visits shall be calculated to cause a minimum of disturbance with the Employer's business and that the Business Representative shall report his presence to the Store Manager on the occasion of each such visit. \ ARTICLE SENIORITY Seniorityshall be recognized by the Employer and shall be based on the length of continuous employment with the Employer in the bargaining unit. Service shall be recognized by the Employer and shall be based on the length of continuous employment with the Employer. Employeesshall not acquire seniority during the thirty (30) worked days probationaryperiod. However, if an employee is continued in employment such period, seniority shall commence from the of such continuous employment.
