A POSITION IN THE SAME OR SIMILAR LEVEL CLASSIFICATION The Employee's current salary and step will be maintained unless his/her qualifications and experience are not relevant to the position and the Employee requires a significant retraining period, in which case the Human Resources Department shall be consulted for guidance in determining an appropriate salary step for the appointment. In no case may the Employee be appointed at a salary which is less favourable than that which would have been granted under Clause 24.6 to a new Employee with equal qualifications.
