Common use of Appointment of Stewards Clause in Contracts

Appointment of Stewards. 8.01 The Employer acknowledges the right of the Bargaining Agent to appoint employees as stewards and alternate stewards. The Bargaining Agent agrees to exclude employees who are serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces and subject to the National Defence Act, Code of Service Discipline, from any/all union offices. This does not preclude an employee who is a member of the reserves from serving as a shop xxxxxxx while employed at an NPF unit.
