Common use of Applicable Legislation Clause in Contracts

Applicable Legislation. The Plan shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the province in which the Annuitant resides, as shown in the Application and with the Tax Legislation. The Plan shall not in any way constitute a trust within the meaning of the Civil Code of Quebec. Given the special nature hereof and the administrative rules created hereby, the rules of Title VII of Book IV of the Civil Code of Quebec relating to the administration of the property of third parties shall not apply to the Trustee.
