Animal Subjects. 1. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society adheres to the most current guidelines applicable to the care and treatment of animals used in laboratory work as outlined by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Grantee, Sponsor, and Sponsoring Institution acknowledge that the statement in the Application to LLS concerning the use of laboratory animals meets and adheres to these guidelines; an accompanying letter by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, or equivalent institutional body, must be provided. Those projects which do not involve the use of laboratory animals must so state.
Animal Subjects. To the extent applicable, in all cases in which activities involving animal subjects are planned, Borrower must abide by all applicable federal and state rules and regulations governing studies of animal subjects at the participating organizations. If the Project contemplates activities involving animal subjects, Borrower certifies that Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) approval for this Project is current (within three years of the Effective Date of this Agreement). IACUC approval shall be renewed every three years the Project is active. Any modifications in the Program Plan section of the Proposal must be approved by the IACUC. Borrower certifies that its animal subject policies and procedures comply with the US Code Title 7, §§ 2131-2156, inclusive.

Those research projects that do not involve the use of laboratory animals must so state in the Application. If the animal use privileges of Sponsoring Institution and/or Grantee are suspended, then LLS must be notified within ten (10) business days of the suspension. LLS will take whatever action it deems appropriate, including suspension or termination of this Agreement. Failure to notify LLS of non-compliance with the guidelines on the use of laboratory animals will result in suspension or termination of this Agreement.
Animal Subjects. Adult female Xxxxxxx 344 rats weighing 160-180 g were used as donors for the isolation of NPC and for the transplanta- tion experiments. All experiments were carried out in accordance with the Eu- ropean Communities Council Directive (86/609/EEC) and institutional guidelines. All efforts were made to minimize the num- ber of animals used and their suffering.
Animal Subjects. The recipient agrees to comply with the Animal Welfare Act of 1966 (P.L. 89-544), as amended, 7 USC 2131- 2156. Animal Subjects. Ten adult Xxxx Xxxxx rats were deeply anesthetized with an overdose of pentobarbital. Immediately after extraction, the brains were kept in saline solution at 4 °C until the measurements were performed. The use of animals and procedures was approved by the Ethical Committee for Animal Welfare of the Uni- versity of Leuven.
Animal Subjects. All studies involving animal subjects are approved and reviewed on an ongoing basis by the VAPAHCS Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. The Veterinary Medical Unit at VAPAHCS practices good animal husbandry and is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care.
