An Occasional. Teacher who intends to take a Family Medical Leave shall notify the Board of the dates on which the Occasional Teacher intends to leave and return to active employment.
An Occasional. Teacher employee shall be hired to replace a member of the Bargaining Unit who is acting to replace an absent Principal/Vice-Principal.
An Occasional. Teacher returning from a Pregnancy Leave shall be assigned by the Board to either the same position held prior to going on the leave or a position as similar and geographically close to the position held prior to going on the leave if the regular Teacher has not returned to duty and the Occasional Teacher would still be teaching in the original Long-Term Occasional assignment except for the taking of the Pregnancy Leave.
An Occasional. Teacher on a Long Term Occasional Teacher assignment shall be paid when the school(s) is/are closed by the Director due to inclement weather or emergency situations.
An Occasional. Teacher who must withdraw from a long-term assignment shall, where possible, provide the Board a minimum of two (2) days notice in writing of the date of withdrawal and the reason(s) for the withdrawal.
An Occasional. Teacher shall not be considered late for an assignment as a result of a late request to report for such assignment provided he/she arrives within a reasonable time of receiving such late request. The Occasional Teacher shall be paid for the full time of the assignment.
An Occasional. Teacher(s) shall be used to replace the Classroom Teacher(s) granted a special leave day(s).
An Occasional. Teacher who accepts and reports for an assignment shall be placed in that assignment unless otherwise mutually agreed.
An Occasional. Teacher currently enrolled in the benefit plans may continue participation in the plans from the next September 1 to the following August 31 providing that the Occasional Teacher:
An Occasional. Teacher who has worked a minimum of sixty (60) days in the previous school year is eligible to enroll in the Board’s benefit plan. The occasional teacher must notify the Board no later than July 15th of his or her intention to enroll. The Occasional Teacher accepted into the plan shall remain enrolled for a minimum of one year. The Occasional Teacher shall provide the Board with an automatic bank withdrawal and the full cost of the premiums shall be deducted one month in advance. An Occasional Teacher, who has enrolled in the plan, shall be terminated from the plan if that teacher goes two years without working a minimum of sixty (60) days.
