Alternative Workweek Schedules. In the future, should the Employer desire to establish an alternative workweek schedule, the Employer shall negotiate with the Union the establishment of said schedules, which could include a secret ballot election by affected employees. The Employer may repeal an alternative workweek schedule provided that it notifies affected employees at least 45 days prior to the effective date of the repeal. Employees working a 10 hour alternative schedule will be allowed to waive their second meal period.

Alternative Workweek Schedules. Unit members may be asked by their supervisor to work an alternative schedule (a 4-10 or a 9-80 work week schedule) due to the unique needs of the site or department and not based on the personal needs of the individual. The alternative schedule shall be on-going (not day to day) and shall be modified or terminated based on the unique needs of the site or department. Individual unit members will not be required to work an alternative schedule and shall only be implemented by mutual agreement between the Supervisor and the impacted employee. The workweek for a 4-10 schedule shall begin on Sunday at 12:00 a.m. and will end on Saturday at 11:59 p.m. The workweek for 4-10 shall not be more than 40 hours during any given week.   • Alternative Work Schedules Alternative work schedule means an approved schedule for an Employee that deviates from the work week described in Section 1, Section 2, or a schedule that deviates from a worksite’s normal schedule. Employees who work a “shift work schedule” as part of a rotating group of individuals who must continuously maintain a 24-hour operation or facility are not eligible for an alternative work schedule.

  • Flexible Work Schedules (a) Academic Professional staff members throughout the University may have, as indicated below, flexible work schedules. For example, Academic Professionals often travel on University business and/or work evenings and weekends. A flexible work schedule is defined as having established working hours different from the standard 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday schedule, to be followed by an employee for an agreed upon period of time.

  • Alternative Schedules An employee may work an alternative work schedule with the written permission of the employee’s Department Manager. The alternative work schedule may be ended by the Department Manager and the employee’s schedule changed to a different alternative work schedule or the standard work schedule. The District may change the employees work period when an employee begins and/or ends working an alternative schedule. The alternative work schedules are listed in the table below.

  • Regular Work Schedules The regular work schedule for overtime-eligible employees will not be more than forty (40) hours in a workweek, with two (2) consecutive calendar days off and starting and ending times as determined by the requirements of the position and the Employer.
