Alternative Discipline: a. In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 751, Subchapter 4, of the Depart- ment Personnel Manual, the Forest Service encourages the use of alternative dis- cipline whenever appropriate. Alternative discipline provides an opportunity to better manage caseloads, reduce administrative costs, and rehabilitate employees for productive Government service.

Alternative Discipline: a. The objectives of the use of alternative discipline are to improve communications and interpersonal relationships between supervisors and employees; correct behavioral problems in the work place; and reduce the costs and delays inherent in traditional disciplinary actions. B. Alternative discipline is limited to permanent, indefinite, and indefinite NTE employees. C. Any form of alternative discipline must be approved by the Director of CRS or designee before an offer can be made to an employee. X.   • Enforce Discipline Contractor shall at all times enforce strict discipline and good order among its employees, Subcontractors, and others performing the Work, and shall not employ or permit the employment of unfit persons or persons not skilled in the task assigned to them.

  • Discipline Procedure To ensure that there is no misunderstandings when discipline is to be administered the Parties shall adhere to the following procedure in each instance of discipline.

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) The City and the Union encourage the use of the City’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program or other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes to resolve non-contractual workplace conflicts/disputes. Participation in the program or in an ADR process is entirely voluntary and confidential.

  • Negotiation; Alternative Dispute Resolution The Parties will attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute or controversy arising out of or relating to the performance of services under this Agreement. If the Parties are unable to resolve the dispute, then, pursuant to San Francisco Administrative Code Section 21.36, Contractor may submit to the Contracting Officer a written request for administrative review and documentation of the Contractor's claim(s). Upon such request, the Contracting Officer shall promptly issue an administrative decision in writing, stating the reasons for the action taken and informing the Contractor of its right to judicial review. If agreed by both Parties in writing, disputes may be resolved by a mutually agreed-upon alternative dispute resolution process. If the parties do not mutually agree to an alternative dispute resolution process or such efforts do not resolve the dispute, then either Party may pursue any remedy available under California law. The status of any dispute or controversy notwithstanding, Contractor shall proceed diligently with the performance of its obligations under this Agreement in accordance with the Agreement and the written directions of the City. Neither Party will be entitled to legal fees or costs for matters resolved under this section.

  • Discipline for Just Cause Disciplinary action shall be taken only for just cause, however probationary employees may be discharged without just cause and shall have no right to grieve discharge (see Article 7, Probationary Period). Disciplinary action, except discharge, shall have as its purpose the correction or elimination of incorrect work-related behavior by an employee. Supervisors may not take disciplinary action against an employee who, in good faith, reports a violation of any federal or state law or regulation to a governmental body or law enforcement official. Disciplinary action may not be taken against an employee who is requested by a public agency to participate in an investigation, hearing, or inquiry, as well as an employee who refuses to participate in any activity that the employee, in good faith, believes violates state or federal law.
