The Parties have agreed that with the implementation of a 15 week roster system and this Agreement, the Parties and all employees covered by this Agreement will collectively seek to achieve the following: • Enhanced teamwork culture and environment. • Enhanced co-operation between all team members. • Enhanced skill development opportunities and a willingness by personnel to obtain and apply a broader range and higher level of skills, including a willingness to assist other team members to obtain and learn new skills. • Enhanced flexibility in the way work activities are carried out. • Enhanced flexibility in work hours beyond normal hours when required. • Enhanced employee job satisfaction and morale. • Improved productivity by: o the retention of experienced personnel. o the reduced need for casual employees. o the reduced need to train and familiarise new casual employees. o the reduced need for administrative time on managing new casual employees. o the reduced need for over cycle arrangements. o the new rostered leave arrangements. o Improved health and safety performance outcomes. o Employees willingness to work additional days when rostered employees unable to report for duty.

The aims of this MOU are therefore to ensure that: • The roles of each party are clearly understood and respected by both parties; • Processes are developed that will assist the parties to facilitate positive local economic and social outcomes associated with the project; • Processes and mechanisms are in place to support clear communication, collaboration and support, and these mechanisms are understood and supported by both parties; • A range of agreed activities and projects are committed to by each organisation and there is a spirit of willingness to enter into further cooperative activities in the future; and • Both parties understand and commit to provide the capacity necessary to deliver the intent of this MOU.

More specifically this agreement will aim to: • Improve customer service outcomes; • Maintain best practice workplace health and safety; • Improve the organisational performance standards; and • Improve productivity. Council will facilitate better performance from its Employees by: • Providing structured performance monitoring and improvement opportunities through Team Meetings; • Providing links between performance indicators and community outcomes; • Promoting better understanding of customer service expectations; and • Rewarding improved performance and productivity.
