Advanced Step Hiring. In hiring at an advanced step, credit shall be given on a uniform basis for prior experience in the classification for which hires up to the longevity step. A newly hired employee cannot be paid more than a current employee with comparable relevant years of professional experience and/or licensure or certification.

Advanced Step Hiring. If the General Manager finds that qualified applicants have greater experience or competencies than required at the first step of the salary range, the General Manager can extend an offer higher than the first step.
Advanced Step Hiring. In the event the City utilizes its discretion to hire an experienced officer, the officer will be placed at the applicable step between “the less than one full year” step and the “five or more full years” step. The new hire will not be placed at a step above the “five full years” step. Employees hired at a step higher than the “less than one full year” step will progress through the steps annually, on their anniversary date, moving to the next step until such time that they have reached the top pay regardless of years of service with the Springboro Police Department.
Advanced Step Hiring. The Employer may authorize applicants to participate in Advanced Step Hiring, if needed, for recruiting purposes, or other legitimate reason at the time of hire. The approval to participate, or not to participate, in Advanced Step Hiring will not be subject to the grievance procedure by the employee, once hired. Conditions for eligibility are set forth below.

  • Health Spending Account contributions by the Executive will cease on the Effective Date. The Executive may submit claims against the balance accrued to the Effective Date, until the end of the calendar year in which the Effective Date occurs.
