Additional Work Assignments. Any permanent employee who is regularly assigned to a unit and who is also assigned similar level on an hourly basis during days in unpaid service, shall be compensated at his/her current rate of pay, and shall accrue benefits, including holiday pay, vacation, and sick leave. This section shall also apply for work performed on all non-calendar workdays scheduled in the employee’s regular assignment. This assignment is not intended to increase the number of months of the employee’s assignment.
Additional Work Assignments. Employees who are temporarily not needed to do their usual existing work may be required to perform other work for which they are qualified, with the objective of utilizing all available manpower effectively and economically. When all things are equal (such as, availability, qualifications, continuity) seniority will be the deciding factor for the assignment. Additional Work Assignments. Additional work assignments (extended 18 hours, overtime, weekend and holiday work, field trips, summer work, 19 etc.) shall be made available to employees on a rotating basis in order of 20 seniority within the department or school concerned, provided the 21 employee is qualified and available to perform the work involved, and it 22 does not interfere with the completion of work or a project that another 23 employee has started. The seniority list and rotation of assignments of 24 additional work shall be posted for employees.

Additional Work Assignments. Additional work assignments for transportation employees, such as field trips or activity trips, may become available over the course of the 178 day school year. If the trip is not assigned based on geographic proximity, drivers will e offered the trip on a rotating basis. All trip assignments will be tracked in the field trip management software made available to the drivers. The District may override this process at any time based on operational need. All transportation employees who submit a written request within the first 60 days of employment will be offered training on the use of the fieldtrip management software. Employees who are interested in being eligible for more additional work assignments or need assistance in understanding their participation in the rotation system are encouraged to consult their supervisor.
