Additional Unpaid Leave. An employee may elect, with the consent of the employer, to take unpaid leave for the purpose of providing care to an immediate family member who is ill, injured or in order to assist with an unexpected emergency.
Additional Unpaid Leave. If an employee requires more than the time allowed for bereavement leave, they may request an unpaid personal leave of absence, or may use any accrued vacation, and/or compensatory time off, if available.
Additional Unpaid Leave. The Secretary may approve additional unpaid Parental leave up to the fifth anniversary of the birth or placement of the child.

The requests would need to state dates, reason, need, etc., and would only be considered if presented at a regular School Board meeting at least one (1) week prior to the start of the requested unpaid leave.

In the event of an extended leave of absence due to a single catastrophic accident or illness to the employee, and said employee has used all accumulated sick leave on or after the first day of work in the fiscal year, but prior to January 1, the employee shall be placed on uncompensated sick leave through the following June 30. Requests for an additional unpaid leave of absence will be submitted to the Board of School Directors. The decision whether to grant additional unpaid leave of absence by the Board is final and binding. If employee has used all accumulated sick leave on or after January 1 but prior to June 30, the employee shall be placed on unpaid sick leave until the following January 1; the Board of School Directors on an individual basis shall approve all further requests for extension of unpaid leave of absence.
Additional Unpaid Leave. Absences due to illness prior to or following a paid holiday must have certification of illness from a doctor in order to receive holiday pay.
Additional Unpaid Leave. If an Employee wishes to take an additional period of unpaid leave, the Employee should apply to their Manager in writing requesting such leave and setting out the proposed start and end dates of the unpaid leave period. The relevant Employer may, in its discretion, grant all or part of the unpaid leave request, depending upon the Employee’s individual circumstances and the Employer’s operational considerations.
Additional Unpaid Leave. Leaves of absence shall be granted by the Road Commission for additional time in connection with funeral leave and estate problems when necessary. Such leaves shall be without pay.

Compassionate Leave Two days paid compassionate leave In the event of the death or serious illness posing a threat to the life of a member of the employee’s immediate family or household, the employee may access two days of paid compassionate leave on each occasion. Paid compassionate leave counts as service for all purposes.
