Common use of Additional Shifts Clause in Contracts

Additional Shifts. Part-time Employees wishing to work additional hours and who so indicate in writing on a monthly basis to the Employer, shall be given preference and first opportunity to work any additional hours and do not trigger any additional or premium costs. Where more than one Part-time Employee has requested to work additional hours the hours will be offered to the Employee within the unit having the most seniority on an equal opportunity basis. If all available shifts are not filled then casual Employees may be assigned shifts as equitably as possible.
