Acting Xxxxxxx. The employer has the discretion to appoint an acting xxxxxxx to fill a temporary vacancy or during the period in which a xxxxxxx position is being posted.

Acting Xxxxxxx. In the absence of a Xxxxxxx for reason of sickness, vacation etc., when an in-scope replacement is required an employee will be selected to fill, for a limited time, the regular Xxxxxxx vacancy and shall be paid a differential of one dollar and seventy cents ($1.70) per hour above his/her Technician rate. This time period should not normally exceed three (3) months unless mutually agreed between the Union and the Company. On an Acting Xxxxxxx assignment that exceeds three (3) months the differential shall be increased at three (3) months to one dollar and ninety cents ($1.90) per hour above his/her Technician rate. Acting Xxxxxxx time will not be cumulative.
Acting Xxxxxxx. During an emergency call, the field crews shall have the right and the obligation to contact the xxxxxxx on call or main office in the event that a condition exceeds the level of expertise or authority of the senior field staff to request the assignment of a xxxxxxx or supervisor with appropriate training or authority. A written report concerning all such requests shall be made available at the request of either the Director or the Association to provide a basis for the review of any covered decision by the Director and the President of the Association. Appeals of covered decision by the Association may be made to the Manager.
Acting Xxxxxxx. It is understood that seniority is not controlling. The County agrees to pay such employees temporarily assigned to such higher paying position for five (5) continuous days or more the rate of the job to which they are transferred payable back to the first day of such work. An employee covered by the COUPE agreement who is directed to and does perform substantiallyall of the duties and responsibilities of the higher rated job within the bargaining unit for five (5) continuous days or more shall be paid at the higher rate or classification consistent with his/her own tenure for all such time from the first day of the assignment. The Employer agrees that it will make such assignments for not less than an employee's full workday. Such payment shall be made on thenext regular payday or as soon thereafter as it is possible, but in no event later than the pay periodfollowing the pay period in which the payment was earned. The time limits for such individual assignments to higher rated jobs shall be 180 days, except wherea regular incumbent is on leave of absence, in which case the time limit may be extended upon mutual agreement of the Parties. If the Employer continues to require the performance of the duties of the higher rated job beyond the time limits herein (or as extended by agreement of the Parties), the Employer will either post and fill the job as a permanent vacancy within thirty (30) calendar days under the terms of this agreement.

Xxxxxxx Replacement Temporary Xxxxxxx positions due to scheduled or unscheduled absences need not be posted. Xxxxxxx Qualifications Ability, efficiency, qualifications and length of service with the Employer will be considered when appointing Foremen. However, the Employer is not required to appoint the senior applicant. Xxxxxxx Trial Period An employee who accepts a permanent Xxxxxxx position will be on a trial period for three (3) months in duration. Should the employee be unable to satisfy the Employer’s work performance criteria during the trial period, he may be returned to his former position. Should the employee decide, during the trial period, that he does not want to continue in the job, then he may return to his former job.
Acting Xxxxxxx. In the absence of the Xxxxxxx of the Water Division, for vacation and leaves of absence, for hours worked for any reason, the acting qualified employee shall, when required by the Board of Public Works, to perform the duties of the Xxxxxxx, receive pay equal to three ($3.00) dollars in addition to his regular hourly rate of pay for each hour in which they perform the duties of the xxxxxxx. The superintendent, solely at their discretion, may designate the acting qualified employee as the active xxxxxxx at a specific job site for a limited period of time. (c ) Acting Equipment Operator - minimum A qualified employee, who is directed by the Water Superintendent to operate the Water Department tractor/backhoe, shall receive pay equal to the equipment operator hours -2. (d Acting Water System Maintenance Craftsman/Meter Repairman A qualified employee, whose normal Compensation Level is 6 or below, who is directed by the Water Superintendent to perform the duties of Water System Maintenance Craftsman/Meter Repairman shall receive $0.55/hour in addition to his regular hourly rate for all continuous hours worked in excess of the first two (2) hours.
Acting Xxxxxxx. A temporary Acting Xxxxxxx may be appointed at ninety-five percent (95%) of the appropriate Working Xxxxxxx rate. A Temporary Acting Xxxxxxx may be paid, as above, for up to sixty-five (65) consecutive days of work, and thereafter, or sooner if deemed appropriate by the City, shall be paid the rate for the appropriate Working Xxxxxxx classification.

Acting Xxxxxxx. When operational requirements arise that an employee covered by this agreement undertakes to perform a role of acting xxxxxxx at the request of the company, that employee will be advised in writing of the requirements of the role and the duration that role is to be performed The notification of this role to an employee is will be by the Manager and be advised in writing. The rate of pay will be in accordance with the schedule determined by the employer but not less than the employees pre-appointment rate of pay for the highest classification under the terms of this agreement.
Acting Xxxxxxx. Under this provision, only one (1) such Xxxxxxx may ordinarily be designated who will have such preference in layoff and rehire as provided in Section 26.3 above. This does not preclude the UNION from appointing “Acting” Stewards, but such employees shall not be considered, in any manner whatsoever, as Stewards hereunder for the purpose of preference in layoff and rehire, as above provided, unless the Xxxxxxx entitled to such preference in layoff and rehire is on vacation or on distant location in which case an “Acting” Xxxxxxx designated by the UNION shall be accorded such preference in layoff and rehire. The UNION shall notify the EMPLOYER in advance of any such appointment. In those instances where there is more than one (1) Xxxxxxx, both Stewards shall have equal preference in layoff and rehire.
Acting Xxxxxxx. Where an employee is designated by the City to serve as acting supervisor for one-half day or more, the employee shall receive a pay differential of $25 per day effective upon execution of this Agreement, which said amount shall increase to $30 per day effective May 1, 2010.
