Acting Chair. If the post of Department Chair is vacant (or if the Chair is on extended leave) and must be filled temporarily while the selection process described above proceeds, the Xxxxxxx will designate an acting Department Chair upon consultation with the full-time faculty. If reorganization results in the splitting or merging of departments in which the composition of the department changes by more than twenty percent (20%), the departments thus formed shall be declared to have a Chair vacancy. The acting Chair procedure will be followed in such instances. Normally an acting Chair shall serve no longer than twelve (12) months.

Acting Chair. 21.4.4.1 For the Department Chair’s vacation period, or other absence from campus of less than one month, the Chair shall recommend and the Xxxx shall appoint an Acting Chair. No Member shall be so appointed without his/her consent.
Acting Chair a temporary appointment, not normally to exceed one year, to the Chair of a Department, made by the Board of Governors as recommended by the President in consultation with the Department, the incumbent enjoying all the rights and duties of the Chair.
Acting Chair. The Voting Members shall appoint one member to serve as Acting Chair of the Regional Council. The Acting Chair’s primary responsibilities shall be to schedule periodic meetings and votes of the Regional Council as needed and to serve as the point of contact for disputes within the Region. The Acting Chair must be either a Member from a county within a Region, such as a county commissioner or their designee, or a Member from a city or town within a Region, such as a mayor or city or town council member or their designee.
Acting Chair. At no time shall the office of Chair remain vacant. When a Chair is unavailable to fulfill his or her duties for a short-term period of up to four (4) weeks, he or she shall designate another tenured or tenure-track Faculty member as acting Chair subject to the Xxxx/Director’s approval of the leave. The acting Chair need not be a member of the same Division. When a Chair is unable to fulfill his or her duties for four weeks or more, then the position is declared to be an unforeseen vacancy.

  • Vice Chairperson The Vice Chairperson shall act in place of the Chairperson in the event of the Chairperson’s absence, inability, or refusal to act, and shall exercise and discharge such other duties as may be required by the Committee. The Vice Chairperson shall serve as the parliamentarian and interpret any ambiguities of the bylaws.

  • Vice Chair The Vice Chair shall perform such duties as prescribed by the Board or the Chair and shall act for the Chair in his or her absence.

  • Deadlock Unless otherwise expressly set forth herein, in the event the Members are unable to reach agreement on or make a decision with respect to any matter on which the Members are entitled to vote, the matter shall be subject to the Internal Dispute Resolution Procedure described in Article 13 hereof.

  • Negotiating Committee The Hospital agrees to recognize a Negotiating Committee comprised of representatives of the Association for the purpose of negotiating a renewal agreement. The number of nurses on the Negotiating Committee is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. The Hospital agrees to pay members of the Negotiating Committee for time spent during regular working hours in negotiations with the Hospital for a renewal agreement up to, but not including, arbitration.

  • Disciplinary Meeting Supervisors shall give employees a forty-eight (48) hour notice, whenever possible, of planned disciplinary meetings. If the Xxxxxxx and the employee agree, the disciplin- ary meeting can be held less than forty-eight (48) hours after notification, but the Xxxxxxx or employee cannot refuse to hold an immediate meeting if circumstances require it. Supervisors shall give employees the opportunity to have a Union Xxxxxxx present for an oral warning, a written warning, a notice of suspension, or a notice of discharge. Employees will be given an opportunity to hear the evidence and respond to the evidence supporting suspension or discharge while still in pay status. Non- supervisory co-workers, other than a Union Xxxxxxx of the employee's choice, shall not be present in another employee's disciplinary meeting. In cases of immediate suspension or discharge, the supervisor will meet with the Xxxxxxx and employee prior to the employee being required to leave the facility. However, neither the refusal of the Union Xxxxxxx to participate nor their unavailability shall abridge the Employer's right to take disciplinary action.
