Acting Appointments. If an Employer appoints a Teacher to act in a promotion position for ten or more consecutive school days, the Employer must pay the Teacher the rate prescribed for that position.
Acting Appointments. When a member is requested to take on additional responsibilities on an acting basis additional compensation will be provided. The extent and nature of additional compensation will be determined by the department head and the member, in consultation with People and Resources and, at the member’s request, the President of the Association.
Acting Appointments. The Chief of School Police may appoint, on an “Acting basis, a permanent employee to fill a vacancy resulting from the absence of a job incumbent due to Board-approved leave. Employees appointed on an “Acting basis shall satisfy all minimum qualification requirements of the applicable position. An employee appointed to an “Acting position for more than five working days shall receive a one-step pay increase effective the first day of the appointment to the “Acting position. The employee shall revert to his/her previous rate of compensation upon termination of “Acting status. “Acting appointments may not exceed 90 calendar days, unless mutually agreed to by M-DCPS and the Union. Acting Appointments. In the event an employee is placed, by authorization of the concerned Department in a higher classification on an "acting" basis, pending the appropriate appointment from an established eligible list, such employees will receive a one (1) pay step increase for the period of time served in the "acting" class, and further, any time served in this capacity shall not be credited toward the probationary period. An acting appointment will be for an initial period of not more than six (6) months (13 pay periods). However, this initial time period may be extended for up to an additional six (6) months when the Department requests such extension from the Human Resources Department. The Association will be advised by the concerned Department of a requested extension prior to a final determination by the Human Resources Department.
Acting Appointments. An acting appointment is a short-term appointment made to a supervisory or managerial position to provide continuity in the absence of the supervisor or manager. The acting appointment shall be limited to 30 calendar days and no pay adjustment shall be made for an acting appointment, except if an individual appointment exceeds 30 days, the employee shall receive a temporary promotion and be paid retroactively at the higher rate.
Acting Appointments. If the school appoints a Teacher to act in a position of special responsibility or as a Deputy Principal for at least ten consecutive school days, the school must pay the Teacher the rate of allowance prescribed for that position.
Acting Appointments. 1. An Acting appointment for a vacant permanent position will be for an initial period of not more than six (6) months (13 pay periods). This initial time period may be extended for up to an additional six (6) months upon the request of the Division Director. The Union will be advised by Human Resources of a requested extension prior to a final determination.
Acting Appointments. In the event an employee is placed by department authorization in a position of “acting,” such employee shall be compensated at the in-hiring rate for the class to which they are “acting,” provided such rate is at least one (1) pay step higher than they are currently receiving. Any time that is spent in the acting title shall not be credited toward probationary time. Employees acting in a classification designated as job basis shall not be eligible for overtime compensation.
Acting Appointments. 1. The City may, at its discretion, appoint an employee in an acting capacity to fill a position vacant due to separation, extended illness or leave without pay in a job classification higher than the one held by the employee. Acting appointments shall be confirmed on or before the first date of said acting appointment and acknowledged by the processing of a Personnel Action Form. Failure on the part of the City to process the Personnel Action Form shall not automatically constitute an employee's waiver of their right to compensation under this Article. If an employee does not receive a copy of an approved Personnel Action Form by the 20th calendar day following appointment to an acting assignment, the employee should bring this to the attention of their Department Director. The employee shall receive any salary scale increase which may be attendant to such acting service only after fourteen (14) calendar days in such acting capacity. Such service may be cumulative if the acting appointment is stopped and started again within any consecutive period of one hundred eighty (180) calendar days. Service in an acting capacity shall not continue for a period of time exceeding a total of one hundred eighty (180) days, nor be considered in establishing an employee's Evaluation Date for the purpose of applying the salary step plan.
Acting Appointments. The Judiciary may make “acting appointments.” Employees appointed to serve in an acting capacity in a professional supervisory position shall receive a 5% promotional increase to their base salary or the minimum of the salary range, whichever is greater (but not more than the maximum of the salary range) for the time period the employee serves in an acting capacity. This section should not be construed as replacing normal recruitment procedures.
