Acting Appointments. When a member is requested to take on additional responsibilities on an acting basis additional compensation will be provided. Acting Appointments. In the event an employee is placed by department authorization in a position of “acting,” such employee shall be compensated at the in-hiring rate for the class to which they are “acting,” provided such rate is at least one (1) pay step higher than they are currently receiving. Any time that is spent in the acting title shall not be credited toward probationary time. Employees acting in a classification designated as job basis shall not be eligible for overtime compensation.
Acting Appointments. 1. The City may, at its discretion, appoint an employee in an acting capacity to fill a position vacant due to separation, extended illness or leave without pay in a job classification higher than the one held by the employee. Acting appointments shall be confirmed on or before the first date of said acting appointment and acknowledged by the processing of a Personnel Action Form. Failure on the part of the City to process the Personnel Action Form shall not automatically constitute an employee's waiver of their right to compensation under this Article. Service in an acting capacity shall not continue for a period of time exceeding a total of one hundred eighty (180) days, nor be considered in establishing an employee's Evaluation Date for the purpose of applying the salary step plan.
Acting Appointments. The Judiciary may make “acting appointments.” Employees appointed to serve in an acting capacity in a professional supervisory position shall receive a 5% promotional increase to their base salary or the minimum of the salary range, whichever is greater (but not more than the maximum of the salary range) for the time period the employee serves in an acting capacity.
