Act of God Days. A. Scheduled days of student instruction which are not held because of conditions not within the control of school authorities, such as inclement weather, fires, epidemics, mechanical breakdowns, or health conditions (as defined by city, county, or state health authorities) will be rescheduled to ensure that there are a minimum number of days of student instruction as prescribed by Michigan law.
Act of God Days. Nothing in this Agreement shall require the Board to keep schools open in the event of severe weather conditions or when otherwise prevented by an Act of God.
Act of God Days. A. If an emergency and/or act of God necessitates the closing of the Holland Public Schools, teachers will not have to report to their assigned buildings, and will have no loss in pay. Every effort will be made to make such public announcements of school closing by 7:00 a.m.
Act of God Days. Whenever an Act of God day or days are declared by the Employer, the Employee shall be notified by his/her Supervisor or designee not to report to work. Transportation Employees shall be in a paid status with any required Act of God make up days being without additional pay.

Act of God" days beyond the allowance by Michigan Law and the Department of Education regulations will be made up by the students and assistants at the end of the school year or at other times as specified by the calendar. Assistants will only receive compensation for the "Act of God" days allowed. When a scheduled day of schoolwork is delayed, association members shall report as near as possible to their regular starting times. Assistants will receive their full day's pay when the school day is shortened due to weather or mechanical problems.
Act of God Days. 16.1 When school is closed or delayed because of an “Act of God”, Transportation Employees are excused from reporting on such days but shall suffer no loss of pay for the Act of God days. Drivers will be informed of school cancellations and/or delays as soon as reasonably possible after the decision has been made to delay or cancel. If the driver is in route when contacted, he/she may be paid for that scheduled run. Employees shall be paid for up to five (5) days of Act of God time.

When schools are closed due to inclement weather, teachers are not expected to remain on duty for more than one (1) hour after students are dismissed unless it is agreed by the parties that teachers should remain for the balance of the regular work day. When the Gibraltar Schools are closed due to an "Act of God" day, employees who are not allowed to work will not be paid in those instances where the District is required to make up the lost day(s) of instruction. If the day(s) of instruction are not required to be made up, the employees will be paid for the day(s).

In the event that a scheduled student attendance day is canceled due to inclement weather, problems with the physical plant, or any other condition, including health and safety concerns, teachers shall not be required to report to work and shall suffer no loss of pay. Likewise, later reporting times and earlier leaving times shall not cause any loss of pay. Should conditions cause a closing of the schools during a school day, teachers shall remain in school until the students under the direction of the teacher have left school and no further safety factor can be rendered by the teacher.
