ACCURACY OF POSITION DESCRIPTIONS. An accurate position description is necessary to review the classification of a position. Questions regarding the accuracy of position descriptions are resolved using the negotiated grievance procedure. During the grievance procedure, the employee may request and receive an audit of his/her position description. Time limits for the grievance will be extended by the amount of time taken to complete the audit.

ACCURACY OF POSITION DESCRIPTIONS. A. An accurate position description is necessary to establish and/or review the classification of a position. An employee who feels his or her position description is not accurate will meet and discuss the matter with his or her supervisor. If the supervisor and employee agree the PD doesn’t accurately describe the work as currently assigned and performed, the supervisor will correct the PD and submit to HR for classification. If the supervisor and employee disagree and the supervisor believes the PD is accurate, the employee may file a grievance to request an audit of his or her position using the administrative grievance procedure. Time limits for the grievance will be extended by the amount of time taken to complete the audit.
ACCURACY OF POSITION DESCRIPTIONS. When an employee alleges inaccuracies in their position description, the supervisor will explain or obtain assistance in explaining the reasons for the duty assignments and the way duties and responsibilities are described in the position description. If, after explanation, the employee feels that the duties and responsibilities of the position are not accurately stated on the position description, the employee may grieve the accuracy of the position description.
ACCURACY OF POSITION DESCRIPTIONS. A position description should accurately reflect the major duties and responsibilities assigned to the employee. Any questions regarding the accuracy of a position description should be addressed to an employee’s immediate supervisor for resolution as needed. An employee may seek the adjustment of the pay category, title, series, or grade of his or her officially assigned position in accordance with applicable law, rule, and regulation.

  • Position Descriptions Individual position descriptions shall be reduced to writing and delineate the duties currently assigned to an employee’s position. A dated copy of the position description shall be given to the employee upon assuming the position and when the position description is amended. The individual position description shall be subject to at least an annual review with the employee. Nothing contained herein shall compromise the right or the responsibility of the Agency to assign work consistent with the classification specification.
