Accumulation Limit. Accumulation of PTO shall be limited to five hundred (500) hours. Employees will be responsible for ensuring that they do not exceed the limit by December 31st of each year. Any balances in excess of will be reduced to at that time.

Employees shall forfeit their right to take or to be paid for any vacation leave to their credit which is in excess of the accrual for three (3) years plus the current year accrual. Such excess leave shall be eliminated from the employee's leave balance. However, if one accumulates the maximum amount of vacation they are allowed under this Section of the contract, upon approval by the engineer, they may be paid for up to two (2) weeks of vacation per year in lieu of time off. In exchange for the pay, 2 weeks’ vacation would be removed from the employee’s vacation accrual.

Accumulation Limit. The total of accumulated days of vacation shall not exceed the number which can be earned in 12 consecutive months, excluding longevity vacation. The District may require Unit Members to use accumulated vacation in excess of the maximum accumulation.
