Accumulated Sick Leave Bank. Employees who have a sick leave bank, in accordance with the “Sick Leave TransitionLetter of Understanding attached to this agreement, may utilize their bank to “top-up” the sick leave provided under Article 10.01 as follows:

Accumulated Sick Leave Bank. The parties agree that the sick leave accumulation bank frozen at March 31, 1989, will be made available to employees to support any unpaid sick leave periods. Further, for employees who had ten (10) or more years of service at April 1, 1989, fifty (50) percent of the sick leave credit remaining will be paid out upon retirement or upon separation of employment other than for cause as outlined in Article 21.2. Similarly, employees who had five (5) or more years of service at April 1, 1989, will continue to earn service credits until the required ten (10) years of service are met and will have the remaining sick leave paid out as above.
Accumulated Sick Leave Bank. 1. The purpose of the sick leave bank is to relieve certified school employees from undue financial burdens due to absences from work on a long-term basis due to illness, injury or incapacitation sufficiently severe that it would make their presence at school not advisable. The sick leave bank may only be used for the illness of its members.

  • Accumulated Sick Leave ‌ The Employer shall inform all employees at least once each year of the number of sick days accumulated and shall make the information available to an employee on request.

  • Sick Leave Accumulation a. All unused days of sick leave at full pay for all employees, shall accumulate to a maximum of two hundred ten (210) days. Such sick leave benefits so accrued will be usable after the annual full days allowed, and prior to any half pay benefits.

  • Advanced Sick Leave a. Employees who are incapacitated for the performance of duties because of serious disability or ailment may request advance sick leave not to exceed two hundred and forty (240) hours. These two hundred and forty (240) hours of sick leave may be advanced to an employee with a medical emergency related to the adoption of a child, for family care or bereavement purposes, or to care for a family member with a serious health condition.

  • Sick Leave Benefit There are two types of sick leave benefits. Annual sick leave is the sick leave days credited each year to each employee in accordance with the provisions of the local collective bargaining agreements. Banked sick leave is previously accumulated unused sick leave to which unused annual sick leave may be added at the end of each anniversary year.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Sick Leave Entitlement A full-time employee shall earn sick leave credits at the rate of one and one-quarter (1¼) days for each month of service in which pay was received for at least ten (10) days. Sick leave shall accumulate to a maximum of two hundred and fifty (250) days. A part-time employee shall be entitled to sick leave credits on a pro rata basis. Where an employee is absent from work because of illness or injury the employee shall be entitled to claim sick leave at her regular rate of pay for a maximum period equivalent to her accumulated sick leave credit.

  • Accumulated Leave Employees may accumulate vacation leave to a maximum of forty (40) hours over and above the employee's maximum annual earning rate. No additional vacation leave shall be earned until such time as the employee=s accumulated vacation leave drops below the stated maximum. In such event, the accumulation of vacation leave will again commence, but in no event shall it exceed forty (40) hours over and above the employee=s maximum earning rate.
