Accruing Seniority. Rural carrier seniority begins to accrue with appointment as a regular rural carrier and continues to accrue while service is uninterrupted in the same post office.
Accruing Seniority. Seniority is defined to mean the amount of time an individual is continuously employed as a teacher within the school district. Except as provided in Article X, Military Leave, Sabbatical Leave, Honorary or Fellowship Leaves, and Article VIII, teacher returning from an administrative position; a teacher shall not earn seniority or advancement on the salary schedule during a period of unpaid leave or layoff. A teacher returning to a position following an unpaid leave or layoff, except for those situations referenced in the preceding paragraph, shall resume earning seniority and credit on the salary schedule, as of the effective date of return from unpaid leave or layoff. Any certified teacher under contract who has been employed up to and including fifty percent (50%) of scheduled hours of instruction in one (1) school year shall be granted one-half (1/2) year credit for the purposes of seniority under this Article. Any teacher employed more than fifty percent (50%) of scheduled hours of instruction in one (1) school year shall be granted one (1) year credit for purposes of seniority. A seniority list will be published by the Human Resources Office in April of each school year. It is the responsibility of each teacher to verify agreement with certification endorsements and seniority by initialing. Any inquiries should be brought to the attention of the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Office immediately. The Human Resource Office will investigate all inquiries. Failure to initial represents agreement with the information listed and is not subject to review after June 30 of the current school year. Further, it is the individual teacher’s responsibility to notify the Human Resources Office immediately of any changes in certification. Fully qualified and fully certified teachers shall be defined as follows:
Accruing Seniority. Employee regularly scheduled to work over four (4) hours per day shall gain one (1) full year of seniority for each 174 days worked in a fiscal year. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than four (4) hours per day shall gain one-half (1/2) year of seniority for each 174 days worked in a fiscal year. Bus drivers regularly scheduled to work a full route or two (2) runs per day shall gain one (1) full year of seniority for each 174 days worked in a fiscal year. A route for bus drivers is a regularly scheduled morning and afternoon pick-up and delivery of students. A run is one-half (1/2) of a route. For example, the kindergarten run pick up children and delivers them to school. Bus drivers regularly scheduled to work one-half (1/2) of a route or one (1) run per day shall gain one-half (1/2) year of seniority for each 174 days worked in a fiscal year. No employee shall accrue more than one (1) year of seniority in any year.
Accruing Seniority. 5 When a Nurse takes a position out of the bargaining unit with the District, 6 they shall cease accruing seniority under this Agreement. If the Nurse 7 returns to the bargaining unit position, they shall be restored the seniority 8 accrued when a member of the bargaining unit Nurses returning to the BU 9 will not have bumping rights to Set Schedules. If the Nurse returning to the 10 bargaining unit served the District in nursing supervision and continued to 11 fulfill floor duties as part of call, that Nurse will be awarded seniority credit 12 for all time spent in nursing supervision.
Accruing Seniority. Starting July 1, 1998 the following shall apply to ESP: ESP regularly scheduled to work over four (4) hours per day shall gain one (1) full year of seniority for each 175 days worked in a fiscal year. ESP regularly scheduled to work four (4) hours or less and more than two (2) hours per day shall gain one-half (½) year of seniority for each 175 days worked in a fiscal year. Bus drivers/van drivers regularly scheduled to work a full route or two (2) runs shall gain one (1) full year of seniority for each 175 days worked in a fiscal year. Bus drivers/van drivers regularly scheduled to work one-half (½) of a route one (1) run shall gain one-half (½) year of seniority for each 175 days worked in a fiscal year. A route for bus drivers is a regularly scheduled morning and afternoon pick-up and delivery of students. A run is one-half (½) of a route. For example: The ECE or Pre-K run picks up children and delivers them to school. An ESP who works nine (9) or more months shall accrue one (1) year of seniority. No ESP shall accrue more than one (1) year of seniority in a year per job category.
Accruing Seniority. The specific rights accruing from the seniority defined in Section 1(a) are as contained in this Article III and other Articles of this Agreement.
Accruing Seniority. ESPs shall be employed on a probationary basis until successful completion of ninety (90) days of continuous employment. Employees regularly scheduled to work over six (6) hours per day and who work at least 170 days in a fiscal year shall gain one (1) full year of seniority. Bus drivers regularly scheduled to work one-half (1/2) of a route (one run) shall gain one half (1/2) full year of seniority for each 174 days worked in a fiscal year Bus drivers who drive four (4) extra duty trips shall gain one-half (1/2) full year seniority for each fiscal year. Any employee who works nine (9) months or more shall accrue one (1) year of seniority. No employee shall accrue more than one (1) year of seniority in any year.
