Absence for Examination. Every employee in the classified service shall be permitted to be absent from the person’s duties during working hours in order to take any examination for promotion in the office without deduction of pay or other penalty, provided that the person gives two days’ notice to the person’s immediate supervisor.

The absence shall not be charged against the unit member’s illness or injury leave.
