Student Support Staff will offer full support for these students, including external health and social support. Aboriginal community groups are located nearby and are always prepared to provide assistance.
Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander people need to be safe from violence, abuse and neglect. Fulfilling this need involves improving family and community safety through law and justice responses (including accessible and effective policing and an accessible justice system), victim support (including safe houses and counselling), child protection and also preventative approaches. Addressing related factors such as alcohol and substance abuse will be critical to improving community safety, along with the improved health benefits to be obtained. Annexure 3 - National Indigenous Law and Justice Framework The Standing Committee of Attorneys-General (SCAG) has developed a National Indigenous Law and Justice Framework to provide a national approach to serious and complex justice issues affecting Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Strait Islander people. The Framework takes a holistic approach to addressing the underlying causes and ongoing consequences of Indigenous peoples‟ interactions with the Australian justice systems, both as victims and offenders. The main goals of the Framework are to reduce the over-representation of Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander people in the criminal justice system, reduce alcohol and substance abuse, and increase community safety. The strategies and actions in the Framework are intended to be flexible rather than prescriptive to enable implementation that is responsive to local needs and consistent with jurisdictional priorities and resource capacity. The Framework is intended to support the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) agenda to Close the Gap in Indigenous disadvantage, particularly in relation to community safety and will be instrumental in achieving COAG objectives. The Framework provides an opportunity for governments, non-government and community organisations, and Aboriginal peoples and Xxxxxx Strait Islanders to build on existing partnerships and agreements to identify and develop the most appropriate response to law and justice issues adversely affecting Aboriginal people and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islanders. The Frameworks goals are to: Improve all Australian justice systems so that they comprehensively deliver on the justice needs of Aboriginal peoples and Xxxxxx Strait Islanders in a fair and equitable manner Reduce over-representation of Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander offenders, defendants and victims in the criminal justice system Ensure that Aboriginal peoples and Xxxxxx Strait Islanders feel safe and are safe within their communities Increase safety and red...

  • General Xxxxxxx 9B.01 When a general xxxxxxx is appointed by the employer and/or as required by the collective agreement, they will be paid a minimum premium of fifteen percent (15%) of base rate and holiday and vacation allowance.
