Abandonment of Employment. The absence of the employee from work for a continuous period exceeding three (3) days without notifying the employer of the reasons for the absence shall be prima facie evidence that the employee has abandoned employment. At the conclusion of the three-day period the employer will attempt to contact the employee at their last known address, requesting him/her to report for work on the next day or make contact with the employer to explain their reason for absence. If no contact is made within three (3) working days the employee shall be deemed to have abandoned their employment.
