Section 6.4. 33 The Association representatives shall represent the Association and employees in meeting with 34 officials of the District to discuss appropriate matters of mutual interest. They may receive and 35 investigate to conclusion complaints or grievances of employees on District time and thereafter advise 36 employees of rights and procedures outlined in this Agreement and applicable regulations or directives 37 for resolving the grievances or complaints. They may not, however, continue to advise the employee 38 on courses of action after the employee has indicated a desire not to pursue a grievance. This does not, 39 however, preclude the Association's right to pursue the matter to conclusion. They may consult with 40 the District on complaints without a grievance being made by an individual employee. 41

Section 6.4. 45 Employees required to work through their regular lunch periods will be given time to eat at a time 46 agreed upon by the employee and supervisor. In the event the District requires an employee to forego 47 a lunch period and the employee works the entire shift, including the lunch period, the employee shall 48 be compensated for the foregone lunch period at overtime rates.
Section 6.4. 7 Each employee who works at least three and one-half (3½) hours per day will receive a fifteen (15) 8 minute rest period. A second rest period of fifteen (15) minutes duration will be provided each 9 employee who works seven and one-half (7½) or more hours per day.
Section 6.4. 37 Each employee shall be assigned to a definite and regular work shift and workweek, which shall not be 38 changed without prior notice to the employee of ten (10) workdays, except in case of emergency. The ten 39 (10) day notice period may be waived by the employee. Employees may request an extension of up to ten 40 (10) additional days by submitting a request in writing to Employee Services. 41
Section 6.4. 7 Time during working hours will be allowed Association representatives for attendance at meetings with 8 the District. Time will also be allowed for representatives to discuss with the employees grievances and 9 appropriate matters directly related to work situations in their area or craft. Association representatives 10 will guard against the use of excess time in the handling of such matters.

Section 6.4. 40 By January 31 of each year, the parties will establish a calendar committee consisting of the Executive 41 Director of Human Resources, representatives from other bargaining units, and two (2) representatives 42 appointed by PSE.
